New family, New Love

Chapter Twenty-Six

*Nick's POV*

Ellis was finally home, I felt super relieved that he was here and he was okay. His mom is also here, she's pretty beat up I felt horrible for what they done to him and his mother, but I'm glad she's here too. He's talked about his mother a lot, how great she was and how much she took care of Ellis and Keith. She sounded like a great mom. I was a little nervous to actually meet her and live with her, but also excited because Ellis said she's amazing. Ellis never really mentioned his father though, it makes me wonder now about his dad but it's none of my business and I don't want to bother him about his dad.

Ellie was also really happy to see Ellis, she's grown attached to him as well. She never likes to do anything if Ellis isn't around, except wait for him really. It makes me happy to finally have found someone who accepts Ellie as their own, my past ex's after Ellie's mom left, never really accepted her like Ellis does. They pushed her away from them and me, it broke my heart that she would be left out which is why I'd end the relationships because I wanted someone who would understand that I'm a parent and that she is my first priority no matter what the situation is, she is going to come first always. She's my daughter, I will do anything for her.

Ellis understands though that I'm a parent and he accepts Ellie as his own, he loves her like she's his own daughter and it amazes me. There are good people out there if you look hard enough. I wasn't even looking for a relationship or anything like that and I found someone amazing. I didn't want to let him in, I didn't want to fall in love but I did, and I wouldn't want it any other way.

I was scared of love, or so I thought but really, I was just scared of getting my heart broken. But Ellis showed me that he'd never hurt me. I hope I never lose this man, he's everything I've wanted, and needed. I love him so much. I didn't think I'd find someone so amazing so soon, but finding him was the second best thing that happened to me. The first best thing that happened, was Ellie coming into this world. They are my everything.

I snapped out of my thoughts when Ellie pulled me along, following Ellis and his mom into the kitchen, I opened the door to let Keith out of the garage and into the house. We sat at the table in the kitchen and Ellis' mom looked at me with a smile, I nervously returned the smile. She sat across from Ellis, who was sitting beside Keith, I sat at the head of the table, Ellie sitting on the opposite end of the table across from me. Henry was taking a nap in the living room, we're in there a lot because it's an opened space and it's fairly bright and calming.

" I wanted all of us in here because Ellis has told me about you Nick, and sweet little Ellie. And I wanted us to be properly introduced and get to know things about each other if that's okay? And us three." She said, pointing between Herself, Keith and Ellis. "We need to catch up, but it's mostly Ellis and I that needs the catching up, Keith I've been by your side since this all happened so I know, but El doesn't." She added.

We all agreed, and then Ellis introduced Ellie and I
To his mom. "Mom, this is my boyfriend, Nick. And his sweet and beautiful daughter. I met them when this all started, we've been by each other's side since. Him and his daughter truly made everything better mom, I'm very happy with him." Ellis explained, I smiled at his words, so did his mother.

"It's nice to meet you two, my name is Beth in case Ellis hasn't told you that yet." She said, I smiled and nodded. Ellis has talked about her a lot but never really said much other then how she cared for him and Keith throughout their life.

We talked for a little while but eventually El and Beth began catching up, so Keith went to lay down to take a nap, then I heard Henry crying so I had to check on him. He needed a diaper change and he's also hungry. I changed him in the nursery that was here, thankfully there's a lot of diapers so we don't need to worry about those. I decided to give him a bath as well, as he sweats when he sleeps because he wears thick onesies and pants all the time and then being covered with a blanket.

I washed him up then changed him into clean clothes, then brought him downstairs and I fed him, before letting him play with his toys in the living room. Ellie was colouring in her doodle book, laying on her stomach on the couch, I smiled and kissed  her temple before going into the kitchen to make dinner, since it was close to dinner time for us.

I decided on a simple meal, which wasn't much but we need to make sure to not cook too much food or
to leave it out and waste it. I cooked just enough for all of us, while El and his mom cleaned the house up a little, me being here taking care of both kids was difficult, Keith offered to help but I told him he'd need rest because he went through a lot of things to get away from that horrible place.

Once dinner was served, we all sat at the table to eat, talking and laughing. Ellis seemed relieved and happy to see his best friend and mother. As long as he is happy and safe, then I'm okay. He means everything to me, when I met him I didn't think I would fall in love for someone this hard. But falling in love with him was the second best thing to happen.

Ellie loves him just as much as I do, she sees him as her best friend, her protector, and her everything. She grown attached to him quickly and it amazes me how close they've grown only after a few days. Now they're close, almost like a father and daughter bond.

He came into our life when we needed love and happiness. We were fine on our own, but when he came along it got better.

It's been about a month or two now that we've been a group or a family really. And it's amazing to have him with us. He means everything to Ellie and I. I know it's really soon, but I want to spend the rest of my life with this man. I've thought about it long and hard for a few days, and my minds been made up.

I want to marry this man.
