The Dark and The Light-Billy

You can't come back from killing a person

"Jess, what are you doing?" I asked she had rushed us to some creepy house and now she was staring at the dirt "where's B" I walked over and looked at what she was looking like, I whimpered and backed away 

"What the actual fuck" Billy said looking at the thing in the ground, soon B came out 

"Look" I waved B over and she looked in the dirt 

"What is that?" she asked, the thing was growing and its orange roots were moving around it was absolutely disgusting 

"Is it a skull?" I asked looking at the object in the dirt 

"It looks like it's alive the skull is growing from the teeth," Leo told me disgusted, I screamed when a hand came out of some dirt nearby I pushed myself backward "Hanna what is it," Leo asked 

"There" I pointed to the human slowly coming out of the ground, Billy pulled me to my feet as we all stared at the grave, we watched as two children walked together "Oh my god Billy is that"

"Carla" he whispered looking at the girl, the two children looked at us and I backed into Billy's arms but they ran off not harming us we had just seen both of them miles away, how is it that they are here?

"That was William Cooper and Carla Machin" I yelled panicking a little bit "what is going on" I shivered and thought about the situation 

"She's growing clones of people using their teeth" B answered, she led us in the house and up to a room where a woman was tied to a chair "who is it? who are you trying to kill" B asked her and the woman looked at all of us "this precious land will be used to destroy him, that's what she said" 

"The Duke of Winchester owns the Balham," I said "oh god" I whispered 

"What Hanna?" Jess asked 

"The Duke of Winchester is one of the richest men in England extremely well-protected if she was trying to kill him she would have to get past his bodyguards"

"John Cooper," Billy said "what's the connection to the girl"

"The hippodrome, she works there and the duke is holding a show there" I responded 

"That's where it's gonna go down"

"You're too late," the woman said "they do my bidding, he will be killed in front of hundreds of people" she was talking about the clones she had been growing 

"How fast can you get to the theater," Leo asked 

"Pretty fast" I answered heading for the door 

"No," Billy said "I'm going not you"

"Why not?"

"It's too dangerous" he snapped "stay here"

"What I'll be fine" I whined 

"Hanna stay here" Billy commanded 

"N-no I'm coming with you" I informed him, Leo walked forward and grabbed me, I struggled against his tight grip "Leo, Leo stop" 

"He's right Hanna, I can't let you get hurt," Leo told me, I struggled for a bit but eventually stepped to the side letting Billy run out the door, we all sat there for a while B talked to the woman about her mother and I found myself worrying about Billy, I had taken a liking to him but it would never work out I could see the way he looks at B, he loves her.

I whipped around when the woman started breathing heavily it was starting, she was going to control Carla. Her eyes opened suddenly and she stared at the ceiling 

"I'd like to make a speech," the woman said "shut your mouth" I wondered who she was talking 

"It's begun" Leo whispered 

"I would like to say a few words about his grace" the woman spat "ten years ago his grace decided he would raise the rent oh hundreds of property on his land many people, hard-working people including a man called David Gates, my dad could not afford to pay that fee"

I walked over to the table and grabbed something sharp, I couldn't let anyone die and I had to be prepared to kill

"Hanna, what are you doing?" Jess asked 

"She said that there is no way to stop this she doesn't think any of us will do it but we can stop this if I kill her," I said, the woman continued to talk and I held the sharp object in my hand "I can't do it but I have to" I sighed 

"The duke's estate told him that if he went to prison then I would have to pay the bill, I was sixteen years old you took my parent from me, my dad he was the only person in this world who loved me, he left me a note which said it's better for you if I go"

"I can't" I gasped walking away I couldn't bear the thought of taking a life, I was thinking about if there was any other way 

"You bastard" the woman yelled, the plan must have failed, Billy must have come through 

"It didn't work" Leo whispered "Billy stopped it" 

"No, we didn't," I said to Jess "that last skull that was growing, who was that?" I asked "she still has one more person" 

"It's not over" Jess gasped 

"Who was it, who did you grow" I demanded but the woman was back in a trance controlling whoever she had grown 

"Who are you," the woman asked "nice to meet you, Billy," she said, I grabbed the sharp thing again, I would not let her kill Billy I cared about him too much "yes," the woman said, it was weird only hearing one side of the conversation "Someone is trying to kill you and perhaps it's because you are a loathsome human being, you're a fool to try and save him boy" she yelled 

It was Billy she going after him "Get off of Billy" I begged 

"Kill her" Jess spoke up, I looked at B who nodded, I readied the object in my hand, I had never hit someone let alone kill them I raised the object and Leo turned away, I was shaking this was something I could never come back from 

"I can't do it" I sobbed shaking "I can't"

"She's going to kill Billy" Jess cried 

"I'm sorry boy, let me make it quick," the woman said, I whimpered holding the object up again, I had to do it for Jess and B and Spike, I had to save him 

"Hanna if you don't kill her right now he's gone" Jess yelled, I nodded tears pouring down my face, I slammed the object into the side of the woman skull killing her instantly, blood splattered on my face 

I stared at the woman shaking, tears rushing down my face, I was in shock I know I had saved my friend but it wasn't enough 

"I killed her" I whispered "I killed a person" I dropped the object and started to cry even harder, Jess came over giving me a hug 

"You saved Billy," she said, I shook in her arms and B joined us holding me tightly Leo came over and they all started trying to comfort me, what had I done. I shook in their grasp clinging to all of them as tightly as possible.
