ℒℴ𝓃𝒹ℴ𝓃, ℰ𝓃ℊ𝓁𝒶𝓃𝒹 1871Things had been quiet around the cellar for the past three days, Leo had left and Bea was absolutely devastated. Bea hadn't smiled during this time and I couldn't blame her, Leo told her he loved her and then left. Billy and I often sat in bed reading or playing some sort of game with Jess and Spike but things were getting a little boring.
I couldn't believe I was saying it but going and solving different cases was fairly fun, compared to this it was. It was like we have a drought of happiness and smiles were rare. Of course, Billy and I's relationship wasn't wavering but Bea set off a mood that made all of us feel a little depressed.
I longed for the day I would turn 18, I only have about a week to go, then I can be here forever and never have to worry about my royal duties. Jess said that when I leave we would have a huge celebration, hopefully, that would bring some fun.
"So" Jess came over and sat next to me "what can we do today?" I thought for a moment
"We could go to the docks and watch all the ships come in" I suggested "we could bring Bea along and have a girls day" Jess seemed to brighten at my words
"Wait, but what will Spike and Billy do, they are just as bored as we are," she said playing with the edges of her tangled hair
"I think they'll manage" I smiled at her softly, Jess was still a little shaken from everything that happened in the tunnels but how could she not be. There were times I had nightmares of everything that had happened but Billy had always been by my side to comfort me. Jess hadn't had any more vision-like dreams since the Rip closed and we were all quite thankful for that
"Shall we go get Bea?" Jess asked in a posh voice, I giggled and nodded
"We shall" the two of us got up and made our way up the stairs. Billy and Spike were playing a card game on Spike's bed, Billy gave me a smile as we passed. We found Bea sitting on her bed humming softly, she had been humming the same song for the past few days and Jess told me that Leo and Bea had danced to the song one night.
"Bea," Jess said softly sitting down next to her sister "we are going to the docks, would you like to come?" Bea looked up at us and shook her head
"No, you two go, have fun" she waved us away
"Only if you're sure, maybe it would take your mind off of somethings" I offered she looked down sadly and I saw that she was fiddling with the buttons of one of Leo's jackets
"I don't think so, maybe some other time" she sighed, Jess nodded disappointedly but stood up. I looked back at my friend before walking away with Jess, my heart broke for her and my bother. Leo didn't want this but he chose to be selfless and help Billy, he put his friends before his happiness, and now he was in Europe with Helena. I hadn't heard from my brother yet but I hoped I would soon. Jess and I made our way onto the familiar streets and headed towards the water.
"So, what do you and Billy do during the day when Spike and I aren't there?" Jess asked walking down the street and spinning a little bit
"Not much, we usually go for walks, read, or go get something to drink," I told her looking at the blue cloudless sky
"No shenanigans?" she giggled while wiggling her eyebrows
"Jessica" I gasped blushing a little "I-I am not ready to do that yet and if I did I would not be discussing it with anyone"
"Oh come on, you have to tell me," she said pouting "I'm your best friend and I need to plan a huge part for-"
"I'm gonna stop you right there" I interrupted her "no one is having a party for that sort of thing Jessica, do you have a special someone you have your eye on?" I asked, I wasn't totally sure about what was going on with Jess and Spike sometimes I thought they might just get together but then at other times they seemed more like brother and sister
"Nope" she popped the P "no one"
"Alright," I laughed. We continued to walk and soon we reached the docks "Jess, do you ever miss going on missions?"
"Yes" she paused "and no, I liked solving mysteries and investigating different cases but I didn't like the dreams I was having, if I could not have the dreams then yeah, I would miss it without a doubt" I nodded as we sat on a bench by the water
"I miss Leo, remember when you first met him and you said that he was tasty?" she hit me playfully
"Well, he is" she crossed her arms and stared out to sea "Bea misses him terribly, we all do" I nodded and looked at the rippling water. We sat there for another 30 minutes watching the sunset and all the boats in the harbor.
"It's getting late" I commented "we should get back so that the others don't worry"
Jess shivered and stood up "I guess" we started to walk back to the cellar when a tall figure caught my eye, I looked to my left and saw something I hoped I would never have to see or hear about ever again
"Hanna?" Jess asked napping me out of the trance
"Huh, oh sorry" I shook my head
"Are you ok?" she looked at me with her eyes full of worry
"Y-yes I'm good" I gave her a grin and she seemed to decide that I was telling the truth. I looked back over my shoulder but the figure was gone, I hoped with every bone in my body that I had been imagining things and that it was some sort of PTSD otherwise we would have a huge problem.
Sorry if that sucked, I promise it'll get better, I've never made up my own chapters before lol :)
