The Dark and The Light-Billy

We did it!

"We're here" Spike yelled "Billy's hurt, it looks like his leg's broken" 

"Get back to the cellar and stay there!" B shouted from the other side of the rubble "keep him there"

"I'm not going back to the cellar" Billy cut in "I'm not leaving you guys" 

"These tunnels aren't safe Billy, Hanna tell him" B yelled, Billy turned to look at me 

"She's right, you can't fight like this, you'll only hurt yourself more," I told him looking at my feet 

"We can unblock it" Billy suggested 

"We don't have time" B shot back "go back to the cellar and stay there and promise me, promise me that you'll keep each other safe"

"Yeah," Spike said 

"I promise" I shouted, now we were waiting on Billy and Leo who didn't seem too keen to protect each other

"Yes" Leo yelled, Billy looked away not saying a word 

"Billy" B insisted that he promise "Billy promise me" he still didn't say anything, did he really hate my brother that much "Billy promise me" she screamed 

"Yeah" Billy finally said, was it really that hard? Leo and Spike hoisted him up, we made our way out of the tunnels as quickly as possible, the streets were even worse than before, Spike held his gun up when we saw a man, eating another dead man, I looked away not wanting to throw up. We continued walking and Billy's leg seemed to be getting more and more painful after every step. 

"We made it back guys, we did it," Spike said as we were a couple of feet from the cellar

"Wait wait" Billy fell to the ground groaning in pain 

"Watson was right" Leo looked around the streets "the city's turning, with the Rip the way it is every time someone prays or wishes for help that's all it takes" 

"We should have stayed, we should have found a way through, we're useless here" Billy growled 

"Yeah, how useful do you think you would have been down there" I snapped "your leg is destroyed, Billy" his eyes softened when he looked at me 

"I know, I'm sorry" I was going to say something when a blue charge of electricity streaked across the sky, it hit the Duck and Quiver but no damage seemed to have been done

"Jessie still hasn't closed the Rip," Spike said 

"It's nearly over, it could be too late" Leo sighed "Come on" the boys helped Billy up and we continued to walk through the pouring rain suddenly people started screaming and running, a big monster followed growling and taking a swing at anyone, Spike charged and hit the monster in the face with the gun knocking it out. 

"I riffled him," Spike said in shock "I riffled him" he grinned 

"Yep" Billy agreed looking at the monster "you riffled him real nice" 

"Sister Anna, are you ok?" Spike asked helping a woman up 

"We were in the church" she panted "when this monster came after us, this creature, we have nowhere to go"

"You can come with us" Billy assured her and she smiled gratefully, we led her and a few others down the stairs of the cellar, then we bolted it shut. Soon the door began to rattle 

"Somethings trying to get in" I whimpered as the monster growled outside 

"It's over" Billy sighed sitting down, we all looked at him with wide eyes "even if we survive the monsters it's all going to disappear anyway, I spent my whole life thinking I was the son of a hero, then I found out he wasn't and I thought I could be one instead, people like us don't get to be heroes"

"Hey, hey" Leo walked over to him "You're just going to give up? let them burst in here and attack us?"

"There's nothing more to fight for" Billy grumbled and I will not lie, that hurt a bit 

"There's each other" Leo snapped "so long as we can fight for each other, we fight" Billy smiled softly 

"Who taught you to be such a badass" Billy asked 

"You did" Leo replied "you all did, now stand up and defend your home" Billy took Leo's arm and stood up, Leo handed Billy and me big boards "trust me, you'll need it" we braced ourselves as the monster outside grew more desperate to get in

"We ask the Lord to give us strength to fight our enemies" I heard sister Anna say 

"Oh shit," I said 

"No, no, no don't pray" Leo insisted but they continued "don't say Amen don't say Amen"

"Amen" they all finished their prayer, we watched as Sister Anna's eyes became black and her face became veiny

"My lambs," Sister Anna said to the other people "it is time for you to be rewarded, in the afterlife" she snapped both the man and the woman's necks, she walked forward

"Stop" Spike shouted "stop sister or I'll shoot you" when she kept coming forward he shot the gun but it didn't damage her 

"Heathen weapons can not harm the anointed," she said with a sinister smile then she lunged at us, we ran down the stairs quickly, she grabbed Spike and threw him into a wall 

"Spike" I yelled 

"Hanna no" Billy tried to grab me but then he decided to go for Sister Anna who kicked his broken leg and threw him back making him hit the wall headfirst, then Leo lunged at her and she grabbed the cane out of his hand. I screamed as she picked him up 

"You are unpure" she seethed "I'll baptize you before you die" I ran at her and hit her with the board but it didn't do anything, it didn't faze her, without warning she threw Leo into the water "might as well baptize you too" she growled lifting me up, I landed in the water harshly and she advances on Leo and me at the same time. 

I struggled against her grasp but she was so strong, I was losing air quickly and I felt rather dizzy as I continued to struggle "Billy" I screamed as I pushed myself out of the water "Billy" she pushed me back down. Leo had stopped struggling beside me and Sister Anna cackled I was starting to lose consciousness but all of a sudden she stopped pressing down on me. I got out of the water gasping for air. "Leo" I yelled looking at my brother who was floating in the water "Leo please, no" he suddenly sat up breathing heavily "Leo" I rushed over to him and gave him a huge hug 

"Billy" Leo gasped and we made our way over to Billy who had hit his head very hard "Jessie did it" Leo panted "it's over" Billy smiled but then it faltered 

"Spike," he said, we rushed over to  spike who lay motionless on the ground 

"Are you alright?" Billy asked, "Are you alive?"

"Spike?" I whispered, Spike groaned and started to move 

"Oh thank god" Billy sighed 

"Is it over?" Spike asked "All of it?" 

"She did it, we did it" Leo sighed chuckling 

"Well done mate," Billy said to Leo while pulling me into his arms, we all grinned, we had made it, we had survived.
