Billy pulled me onto the dance floor just as the music started "So is my theory right?" he asked as we walked in a circle with our hands together 

"No" I mumbled not looking at him 

"I don't believe you," he said gently pulling my face so that he looked directly into my eyes "Kitten, I know you better thank you think" I could feel the tip of my nose tingling which meant I was about to cry 

"I really don't want to talk about this" I whispered, if he found out everything would be ruined, the dance would be over soon so I was thankful for that 

"Come on, I'm your best friend, you know I won't judge you," he said softly lifting me up, I always struggled with the jump but this time I didn't mess up 

"It's not that I think you'll judge me," I told him "it's more complex than that" it really wasn't all that complex I just couldn't tell him I was afraid of being rejected 

"You like Spike don't you," he concluded 

"No Billy, I don't like Spike" the dance was ending and the music stopped, I rushed away from him as fast as possible, I needed to find Leo so that we could get out of here. I started to walk out of the ballroom when Billy's hand caught my wrist 

"Hanna please talk to me" he begged, his blue eyes widening "whatever you're feeling is making you angry and sad, I can see it, everyone can" for some reason that spiked my anger, a few minutes before I was just sad but now I'm angry too 

"You want to know why I'm always sad and angry" I snapped, he looked taken aback because of my very quick mood change "because I do know what it's like to love someone you can never have, I have to do it every single fucking day" 

"So you admit-"

"Let me finish talking, I do like someone in our group, Billy, and guess what it's you. I get angry because it's always B this B that and frankly, it's boring, I don't have the patience to hear about how much you love her anymore, I feel the same way you do with her situation with Leo" I really didn't want to have said that but it was too late now "now I have to find Leo" 

"Hanna, you can't just say something like that and walk away," he said walking fast to catch up with me 

"That's what I'm doing" I grumbled walking up the stairs to the second floor, I bet Charolette had Leo at the moment

"Hanna please, I need to say something now," he said 

"We have to find Leo, now's not the time, we have a very small opening of time to escape from this place"

"You don't have what she has" I heard Leo say

"Leopold" a voice called after him, I ran towards the voices and saw Leo exiting the room, I ran out onto the balcony with Billy at my heels 

"You ready Hanna?" Leo asked as we climbed over the balcony railing 

"Yes" I replied looking down at the ground below, we would get hurt during this escape but we wouldn't die 

"Your mother told me you two were too stubborn to listen" I looked around and saw Daimler "I begged her to let me give you one last chance, in this place, it is I that have been your biggest advocate"

"Bullshit" I spat "I actually have been his biggest advocate" Daimler ignored me 

"I pushed back against doctors, against my superiors to give you the most normal life I could and this is how you repay me"

"I don't belong here," Leo said on the verge of tears 

"If you had been born to any other family, you simply would not be but it is your privilege that has kept you alive, you wish for what you call a normal life but you are not normal and will never be so

"Goodbye Daimler," Leo said jumping I was terrified, I couldn't jump, it was too far 

"Hanna" Billy took my hand and gave me a reassuring smile, then we jumped, the fall wasn't bad and neither was the landing I probably would have a few bruises 

"Guards" Daimler yelled but we had already started running, they wouldn't catch up, not now as we ran I was able to unlace the top layer of my dress and take it off, I wasn't running t well with it on. Leo took off his suit and jewels just as Billy did. 

We ran to the cellar and when we got there Leo collapsed in B's bed. "Leo are you alright" I whispered 

"I'll be fine" he panted 

"Hanna are you good?" Billy asked and I just nodded while propping Leo's head up with a pillow. I heard Jess and Spike walk into the cellar, there were in a heated conversation but then Spike noticed us all and screamed 

"Leo? are you alright mate?" Spike asked 

"She's compassionate" Leo whispered 

"What?"

"Beatrice, the quality she has is compassion" he sounded like he thought he was going to die which he was not going to do. I sighed and sat by Leo's side. What was I going to do about Billy?
