The Dark and The Light-Billy

The Holmes House

"Kitten, wake up," a voice said, I rubbed my eyes to see Billy standing over me 

"No" I sighed turning away from him, I snuggled back into the pillow that my head was on 

"Come on Kitten, we have a job to do," he said taking my arms and pulling me so that I was sitting up gently, I sat there sadly thinking about what B had said to me the night before, he carefully lifted me out of bed and set me on the ground 

I scowled at him "I was tired, Billy" 

"I know" he smiled softly "but you need to pack, we are going to Mycroft Holmes's house" he informed me 

"Ok" I mumbled throwing a few things in a bag, I had slept in my clothes last night I yawned trying to wake up. When I was done packing Billy took my arm and we walked up to the stairs and out into the street. I went over to Jess who put her arm around me and Spike did the same. 

Soon Leo came out still in his fancy clothes, he took in his surroundings before spotting B. He started walking towards her when Billy spoke up

"Sticking around then are you?" Billy asked blocking my brother 

"What do you want Billy" Leo sighed having had enough of his attitude 

"You want to hang around with us, pretend you're one of us whatever but you stay away from B and Hanna" Billy spat, I almost rolled my eyes Leo was my brother, he wasn't going to stay away from me

"Why would you want me to do that?" Leo asked annoyed 

"Cause you're the type of person who lies and uses people and I don't let people hurt my friends, Hanna is vulnerable right now and she doesn't need you to conflict her between our two worlds" 

"Oh shit" Spike hissed, I followed him over to the two boys 

"Who I spend my time with is none of your business" Leo snapped "and I'll hang out with my sister if I want to" 

"Guys stop, we're friends," I told them I took Billy's arm and held him back  

"Woah Woah Woah," Spike said "everything alright lads?" 

"Yeah, great" Billy snarled "we ready to set off?" I ran after him 

"Billy wait" I tugged on his arm and he looked down at me 

"I'm sorry Kitten, I just don't like how he's living in two different worlds" he mumbled 

"I know but Leo's not trying to piss anyone off," I said and we wrapped his arm around my shoulder 

"I know Kitten, I know" he booped my nose and I giggled swatting his hand away, gosh I like billy so much and it hurt but I'd get over it. Our group boarded a carriage to take me to the Holmes house. The ride was silent I hadn't talked to B yet, I was still mad at her and I think everyone knew that. Soon the carriage stopped and we all got out. 

"When did we become the type of people who voluntarily spend the night in the same house as a murderer?" Spike asked as we walked down the path to the house 

"Remember," I said "we're not here just to investigate the murder, this is where sherlock grew up this house may hold the key to what is going on" I turned around and continued to walk 

"Are you alright Hanna?" Jess asked me 

"No, I'm not but I have to stay strong," I told her 

"I actually read a rather interesting book," Leo said from behind me "about the history of the tarot a few years back, remember when our governess-" 

"What's that," Jess asked looking at a tower in the distance 

"Looks like a gothic folly," I said 

"What's it for?"

"Follies by their nature aren't really meant for anything" I answered "they're like a very large garden ornament" 

"Wow," Jess laughed "Imagine you have so much money you can just build towers for no reason" Leo and I shared a look, we had a lot of Follies. The six of us were greeted by a man and a lady 

"Beatrice," the man said "my name is Mr. Bannister I'm Mr. Holmes's assistant, ladies, Isabella here is your maid for the weekend she'll show you to your suites" Jess bowed to the lady and B nudged her to stop "Gentlemen, for events such as these we only let select members of the staff remain at the house they're under the impression that you are a few grunts we've hired for the weekend"

"Well, how are you going to get into character?" Spike asked Billy who scowled at him

"Isabelle," the man said and the maid waved us to come inside "Gentleman, you are around back" I gave Leo a quick hug and then went inside with B and Jess

"Is this really happening?" Jess asked when Isabelle led us into a room that was large but a little smaller than my chambers at the palace 

"Miss. Jessica and Miss. Hanna your rooms are just next door" Isabelle informed us 

"No I want to sleep in here with B," Jess said "I mean is that alright?"

"Whatever you want to do is alright, you're guests of the house" Isabelle walked over to some dresses "now if nothing fits we'll send someone down to the village to pick up something else would you like me to bring up a cup of tea while you try them on" 

"Tea sounds...splendid" Jess smiled, she was so happy.
