Chapter 10

The gang were all at the Jousting Range. In the distance, Shrek spotted a bold knight atop his steed. He looked very impressive as he reared up ready to charge. Shrek, Kobe, Max, Donkey and Puss arrived to see the beginning of the charge. It was an exciting back and forth.

Hooves pounded on sand. The Knights eyes steadied. The horse reared majestically. The opponent's eyes wided in fear. The lance hit and the opponent flew through the air and and landed in front of Shrek, Donkey, Max and the two cats.

Shrek looked back at the victorious Knight. He removed his helmet revealing a strong handsome face. The Knight enjoyed his victory.

" Ha ha! There is no sweeter taste on thy tongue than victory!" The Knight  cheered on. A guy from the crowd started rooting after the Knight said that.

" Strong, handsome, face of a leader. Does Arthur look like a king or what?" Shrek asked as he stepped forward.

" Ow." A teenager said in pain. Turns out Shrek had his foot planted square in the chest of the Knight's  opponent.

" Oh sorry." Shrek apologized as he stepped back. The kid didn't budge, his arms and legs still sprawled out where he hit the ground.

" Did you just say you were looking for Arthur?" The teenage boy asked the ogre. Shrek, Kobe, Max, Puss and Donkey turned back around.

" That information is on a need to know basis." Puss stated.

" It's top secret, hushidy hush." Donkey said.

" They've got a point." Kobe agreed with the male cat and Donkey. The five walked to the knights area of the Jousting Range.

" Now gentlemen, let's away... to the showers!" The Knight commanded his troops. The Jocks rooted again. Shrek approached the Knight.

The Knight's horse reared up and fell off. The horse galloped off. The Knight looked up at Shrek in fear.

" Greetings your majesty. This is your lucky day." Shrek told the Knight.

" So what for like are you supposed to be? Some kind of giant mutant leprechaun or something?" The Knight asked Shrek which caused Kobe to give him a 'really now' look on her face.

" Oh, ho, ho, ho. Giant green leprechaun... You made a funny." Shrek laughed at his comment. He scooped up the knight, tossed him on his shoulder, ogre-style.

" Unhand me, monster!" The knight commanded but Shrek doesn't listen.

" Stop squirming Arthur." Shrek told the Knight annoyed with his complaining.

" I'm not Arthur!" The Knight told the ogre angrily which caused Shrek to stop and hold him above his head. The Knight tried to regain his dignity.

" I am Lancelot!" The knight now named Lancelot introduced himself.

" That dork over there is Arthur." Lancelot said while pointing at the teenager now named Arthur, skulking away across the school yard.

" Hey!" Shrek yelled out to the teenager as Artie turned his head briefly but continued walking.

Shrek sighed and dumped Lancelot to the ground causing him to let out a small scream. Shrek stormed off the school while Donkey, Kobe, Max, and Puss caught up to him. One of the females stepped in front of Shrek.

" Ahem! This is like totally embarrassing, but my friend Tiffany thinkest thou vex her soothly..." The female (Guineverre) said as the other girls started giggling.

" And she thought perhance thou would wanna ask her to the homecoming dance or something..." Guineverre finished her sentence.

" Uh, excuse me?" Shrek asked the girl weirded out.

" It's like whatever. She's totally into college guys or mythical creatures and stuff." Guineverre said. Shrek popped her gum and the gang continued on.

In the hallway, Shrek, Kobe, Max and Puss were looking for Arthur.

" Oh Arthur! Come out, come out, wherever you are..." Shrek called out.

" Yeah. We're not gonna hurt you!" Kobe called out as well. Mumbling noises can be heard from inside a locker. The four looked as they saw that Donkey pushed the locker open. He was stuffed inside. Some students can be heard laughing at him.

" Yeah. You better run, you little punks no good-niks, cause the days of ' Little Donkey Dumpy Drawers' are over.!" Donkey yelled out to them in anger.

" You OK Donkey?" Kobe asked the mule who was in pain.

" Yeah I'm fine." He told the female cat. She noticed a sign on Donkey's butt that says " I Suck-eth" on it.

" I'll help you get that off." Kobe said before pulling the sign off the mule's butt. Donkey thanked Kobe with a smile in his face. Shrek spotted students entering the Gymnasium.

The students approached the Hall Monitor that stopped them.

" Halt!" The Hall Monitor ordered them. Two mascot costumed students walked up to the hall monitor.

" We're here for the Mascot Contest." Costume student 1 said.

" Grrr!" Costumes student 2 imitated. The hall monitor waved them in. Shrek had an idea.
