Chapter 13

The boat all of a sudden crashed into the rocks. Kobe took out her bag from her backpack and vomited in it.

" Land ho!" The ship captain yelled out.

They were all at a small beach and Kobe and Max were laying on Shrek's shoulders since she was seasick on the boat. Shrek, who was holding Puss and Donkey, staggered onto the small beach. He glared at Artie who pulled himself out of the surf.

Shrek dropped Donkey and Puss while Kobe felt so much better that she and Max jumped off Shrek's right shoulder and landed on the ground gently. The two of them looked around the place.

" Where are we?" Max asked while looking around.

" Looks like a small beach to me." Kobe told her best friend while looking around as well. Puss, who was tired of being wet, shook himself vigorously which caused Kobe and Max to back away while using their hands as self defense to prevent getting wet as well.

His fur puffed up into fro. His head dropped in shame. Kobe walked towards the poor cat making sure he was fine.

" How humiliating..." Puss said as he was embarrassed.

" Tell me about it, we barely made it out alive thanks to Shrek and Artie." Kobe agreed with Puss while glaring at her owner and teenage boy who were bickering.

" Oh nice going, Your Highness." Shrek argued angrily with Artie.

" Oh, so now it's ' Your Highness?' What happened to ' loser?' Huh?" Artie argued back.

" Hey, if you think this is getting you out of anything, well it isn't. We're heading back to Far Far Away one way or another, and you're gonna be a father!" Shrek yelled out firmly.

Artie raised an eyebrow at Shrek while the four animals stared at him uncomfortably when the word " Father" escaped his lips.

" What?" Artie asked the ogre weirded out.

" Ahem. You just said father..." Donkey cleared his throat causing Kobe and Max to nod their heads in agreement.

" I said king. You're gonna be King!" Shrek corrected himself firmly.

" ' You're gonna be king! Yeah right." Artie mocked Shrek before he shook his head and marched down the beach toward a path in the woods.

" Where do you think you're going?" Shrek asked the angry teenager.

" Far Far Away... from you!" Artie responded while still climbing.

" You get back here young man and I mean it!" Shrek yelled out to him firmly. Artie just kept climbing.

" Uh boss, I don't think he's coming back and maybe it's for the best. He is not exactly king material." Puss suggested but Kobe wasn't having it.

" No we can't let him go. Don't you remember what the king said? He's the only guy left besides Shrek that might become king and you know Shrek can't picture himself running a kingdom." Kobe told the male cat who just shrugged his shoulders.

Shrek just looked towards Artie.

" When were you planning on telling him you were really supposed to be king?" Donkey asked the ogre.

" Oh come on, Why would I? Besides, he'll be ten times better at it than me." Shrek told the donkey before he started walking after Artie. Donkey jumped in front of Shrek.

" Hey, woah ho ho, Shrek. Then you're just gonna have to change your tactics if you wanna get anywhere with this kid." The mule told the ogre.

" You're right Donkey." Shrek agreed as he picked up a piece of driftwood. Kobe and Max looked at their owner confused.

" What about this?" Shrek asked. Donkey, Kobe and Max shook their heads in disgust.

" Shrek!" The three of them exclaimed with disgust.

" Oh c'mon. It's just a joke." Shrek told them as he started to laugh. He walked off, trying to catch up to Arthur.
