Kabanata 5
For a moment my brows creased when I saw that man who insulted me in the restaurant but when my gaze dropped to the name resting above the table.
Atty. Zhimbax Riegor Lorcan
Lorcan Shipping Lines Inc., PresidentThen my gaze went back to the man staring at me with clenched jaw while his arms are crossed infront. I realized that it was him.
So, he became a lawyer and lived in the city.
Honestly, I felt small looking at him. He looked high and mighty with his matured features and the title before his name. He’s like an aristocrat plotting to conquer an ignoble like me. He could seem to crush anyone he dislikes.
But although I felt like a lumpen, still with my blank face, I met his frigid eyes.
So kilala nga niya ako. Well, I could still recall how he insulted me in the restaurant.
It was spacious and conducive. It has white and gray palette.
Even without the presence of gold, his office screamed authority, power and wealth.
They’re not mismatched anymore. As I’ve said, his features matured. His body was more chiseled than before. With his suit and tie, he fits the description of a powerful and dangerous bachelor.
“So, why are you here?” he asked like he was unaware of my intentions.
Tumikhim muna ako.
“Good morning sir, I’m an applicant for you P.A and I’m here for the interview.” Pormal kong sagot.
All thanks to my face and voice na hindi nagbabago ang bakas ng emosyon. It was already easy for me to act collected despite my concealed emotions. And right now, I can tell that I am having a hard time veiling how I feel. Mixed emotions.
“What’s your name?”
Tinatanong niya talaga iyon?
“Karina Calixta Bambini, sir.” Magalang kong sagot.
I saw an emotion flickered in his face but it went died out immediately.
He went silent.
“Interview, huh? Sige, I’ll interview you.” He scoffed.
Tumango lang ako.
I heard shuffling of papers before he cleared his throat.
