The next morning Naruto and his friends arrived at school only to find out that in their home room there was to be a project. Their teacher had already paired everyone up. The class was to do the project of studying their partner with the person beside them. That meant Sasuke and Naruto were a pair, Shino and Kiba, Neji and Shikamaru, and Choji with his bag of chips since not a lot of students wanted to sit with him because he made a mess over their papers. Hearing this from their teacher Naruto about lost it. He yelled that Sasuke was a weirdo and he didn't want to be paired with a good for nothing. Mr. Ebisu was not having that though, he pointed out to the whole class that Naruto had the lowest score in the class.

Being embarrassed by his teacher Naruto sat down and crossed his arms. He couldn't believe it. Not only did he have to deal with Sasuke pretending to be his friend now he had to deal with him on his own personal time. Sasuke sat beside him with a pleased look on his face. This irritated Naruto even more. First the guy wanted him to drop out of the talent show, then he wanted Naruto to go out with him, and now he has to study the blonde for a school project. Things just couldn't get any better for Naruto could they. As the class prepared to switch classes Sasuke pulled Naruto back into his seat.

"Have you given it some thought as to what I asked you?" Sasuke asked holding Naruto's hand in his.

The blonde frowned at the memory of the previous day, "I already gave my answer. I won't drop out of the show and I won't date you or be your friend." Naruto spat and pulled his hand away from the pale one.

The blonde stood and walked out of the class leaving Sasuke there with a smirk. Naruto joined his friends in the hall for a few short minutes to tell them what had happened.

"Looks like he's not giving up." Kiba joked as he shut his locker.

"Maybe he just wants to have dinner with you." Choji joked before stuffing his face with a brownie.

"Who cares, let's just get to class so I can sleep." Shikamaru yawned.

Naruto and the gang walked the halls to their next class chatting about new ways to do a dance move a lot easier. The hallway was almost empty meaning they were about to be late. They all ran to their next class with Shikamaru lingering behind. They made it in time to sit down just before Ms. Anko came in with a big stack of papers.

"Quiz time!" She happily yelled and started passing the papers on her stack out.

The class groaned, every Friday morning there would be a quiz in this class over things they learned. Naruto usually failed them miserably, but they didn't take that much damage to their overall score. As Naruto wrote his name on the paper, he noticed someone had stepped into the room. Ms. Anko was talking with them in hushed tones. It was a man Naruto hadn't seen since he started school and pranking everyone. Mr. Sarutobi stood at the door looking over the class until his eyes landed on Naruto. He smiled at the teen and set his eyes back on Ms. Anko.

Naruto looked down at the quiz laying on his desk and sighed. He didn't learn much when he did pay attention let alone when he didn't. He tried to remember all the formulas that he was taught, none came to mind. There were only a few minutes left until Ms. Anko came to get the papers. Naruto panicked as he started circling random answers and giving lame examples of how he got them.

Mr. Sarutobi had left the class when Naruto finished his last question, the only one he did know. Ms. Anko came around collecting the sheets of paper and looking over some. The corner of her mouth twitched upward when she looked over Naruto's.

"I do hope you all read the questions carefully. The answers are there, they're there." She said as she walked by Naruto.

Sighing knowing, he failed, Naruto hung his head letting it hit the desk with a hard thunk. Kiba threw a rolled-up piece of paper at him only to be ignored. Ms. Anko continued on with today's lesson and Naruto wrote everything that was on the board into his notebook. If he didn't understand it, maybe he could get Iruka or Kakashi to teach him. Naruto hoped that the day would finish quickly so he could meet up with Iruka and go shopping for the talent show. As his mind wandered Naruto forgot to write down some notes before Ms. Anko erased it for more room.

"Alright everyone, listen up and don't ask questions." Ms. Anko said and put down the magic board pen.

Everyone stared up at the woman who revealed more than she should for a teacher and waited.

"This is going to be today's last class; us teachers have a very important meeting after this. So, I want you all to study up, there will be a quiz on Monday. You're all dismissed." She said with a cheeky grin.

Naruto packed up his notebook and pencil and quickly ran out of the class ignoring his friends calling him. He weaved through the rest of the student body and made it outside before anyone. He ran down the sidewalk in the direction of his house hoping Iruka didn't leave yet. His breath came quick and his legs became sore as he climbed the front steps of the house and burst through the door. Iruka jumped as he was bent over tying his sneakers.

"Naruto!" Iruka exclaimed with huge eyes.

"Sorry, are you going now? I'll go drop my bag, give me a few seconds to get my wallet!" Naruto yelled as he ran upstairs.

"I heard from the neighbor's kid that you have a project with them! Let me know if you need anything for that too." Iruka said as Naruto climbed down the stairs.

"Yeah, let's go!" Naruto excitedly yelled.
