Sasuke had left after things were made clearer. He would get to see Saruto once a week with supervision. The two of them would work together on trying to figure out a better way to give him more freedom. Sasuke wasn't happy with the outcome, but what else could he do. Naruto now sat alone in his apartment since Iruka and Kakashi took Saruto out to eat. He was lost in thought with his head laying on the countertop of the island. He wanted things to go back to the way they were before the whole break up and rape. He wanted to be happy. Instead, he felt lost and even more alone than he was before. Saruto was just like Sasuke, he was independent, quiet, and he was smart about a lot of things. Naruto didn't have to entertain him very much which left the blonde feeling as though he weren't doing something right. He also didn't have to remind the toddler to brush his teeth or eat his vegetables. Naruto's eyes started to water at the thought that Saruto will grow up to hate him.
Naruto sat up and wiped his eyes. He needed to get himself together. He was alone, this was the perfect time to get his mind straightened out. Did he want to try again with Sasuke after everything that's happened. Did he want Sasuke to be a part of Saruto's life. Did he want to risk going through more pain in order to be happy with one person. Does he want to give up on the thought of being with Sasuke and try going out with someone else? Who would be the someone else? Naruto sighed and got off the chair and headed to the living room to pick up the toys that were throw everywhere. As he picked up a toy train he thought of his past. He missed his granny who knew exactly what to do to make him smile. Naruto thought about calling Shizune, but thought against it knowing she'd be too busy.
Picking up a lion plush with a button eye missing and a chewed tail Naruto remembered his friends and thought about what they would want him to do. Kiba would tell him to get over it and try something new. Shikamaru would tell him that he doesn't care but turn around and hint at something that would make more sense. Choji would ask to meet up and talk about it over food. And his newfound friend Rock Lee would tell him to be youthful and go for whatever his heart was set on. Shaking his head at the cringy way Lee spoke Naruto finished up and sat on the couch. He needed to get his thought under control before deciding on anything that would change his whole world.
"If I go back with Sasuke, what do I gain? I might get lied to again, or he could trick me into getting raped or worse." Naruto thought out loud.
He laid down fully on the couch and hugged a cushion to his chest. He shut his eyes and thought hard. If he didn't get back with Sasuke, he would just be miserable and alone. He didn't want that. He wanted to be able to feel the joy Iruka gets whenever he's with Kakashi. If Sasuke and him got back together, would he be more honest, would they fix everything that was wrong with Naruto. Not knowing what to do anymore Naruto shot up off the couch and jogged to his room. There was one other person he could ask about his decision making.
Looking for his cellphone that wasn't on it's charger on the nightstand Naruto heard the doorbell ring. Confused he walked through the apartment and to the door. He looked through the peep hole and nearly had a heart attack. Standing on the other side was none other than Itachi. Super confused as to why the older man was here Naruto opened the door.
"Itachi?" Naruto asked.
"Hm, he's not here either is he?" Itachi asked looking over Naruto's head and into the apartment.
"Who?" Naruto asked looking back behind him.
"Your soulmate. "Itachi smirked as he pulled out his phone.
"Soulmate? Do you mean Sasuke?" Naruto asked crossing his arms over his chest.
"I'm guessing he fucked up again. That boy sure knows how to cause trouble, but never stay out of it." Itachi said more to himself.
"Do you want to come in and check?" Naruto asked hoping he would so he could question him more.
"No, but if you've got questions just ask." Itachi said as he held his phone up to his ear.
Being raised correctly, Naruto waited for Itachi to finish his call, "Why did you call him my soulmate? Are you trying to trick me into getting back together with him? What kind of trouble has he been in and what kind has he cause? Should I be worried? Are you here to threaten me not to talk to the police?" Naruto rambled.
Itachi smiled down at the blonde in a way that gave Naruto the creeps. He knew enough about Itachi to know that whenever the taller man smiled, he was holding secrets you wouldn't like. Naruto shivered at the knowledge and glared at him the best he could.
" I can't disclose anything that would get you in trouble or hurt. As for calling him your soulmate, why don't you ask mine? Dei, this is Naruto." Itachi said as he turned to look at the new person coming down the hallway.
"Oh, finally! I've been dying to know who you are since Sasuke started us-" Dei said before Itachi glared at him with dark eyes that almost seemed crimson.
"Who are you?" Naruto asked feeling like a prey now.
"Oh, I'm Deidara. Itachi and I have been dating for years. Practically married, but he won't ask. Men am I right?" Deidara laughed as he forced his way into Naruto's apartment.
Itachi stepped in afterwards, Naruto had no choice but to let them in and close the door.
"What exactly are you guys here for?" Naruto asked a bit confused.
"To fill you in on everything that's happened of course!" Deidara excitedly said as he plopped himself down on the couch.
Naruto looked to Itachi as if the other blonde was being serious. Itachi nodded before saying his goodbyes. Naruto stood in his kitchen with no idea as to how this went about, or why he let it happen.
