A/N: Sasuke's car top/side
~~~
Sasuke sat in his room next to the window that looked out to Naruto's. He knew if he looked through it, he'd see Naruto laying on his bed hugging the plush that Sasuke wished he'd get rid of. Instead, he sat there in pretzel style thinking of a way to get around the contract his record label had given him. He read it over and over. There was no loophole he could think of. Even Itachi said he couldn't help. The contract stated that Sasuke had to cut all ties with anyone that wasn't family and had to move to another city. He really wanted to be a singer to support Naruto in his journey to becoming the same thing. Sasuke couldn't tell the blonde this though, it'd be embarrassing.
As Sasuke sat there looking at the paper in front of him on the floor the world outside his window lived on. The sun that sat high in the sky was now setting. The kids who were having fun and laughing were now heading home. The smell of grills cooking food wafted through the air. The splashes of water from the homes with pools continued. There wasn't much traffic even though there was a party almost every day. Life continued while his and Naruto's had only just hit a bump.
Sasuke lit up at an idea he just got, and he rushed downstairs with the contract and into Itachi's office. He shut the door behind him and locked it because he knew Itachi wouldn't like him in there. Quickly typing in the password into the computer which was Deisass142! Sasuke opened word and started typing the contract the way he wanted. He printed it out and read it over for any mistakes. He fixed it up a bit to look like the contract he was given and added the lines and names of everyone who was on it. Reprinting it Sasuke signed it and stuck it in an envelope. As he looked for a stamp his phone went off in his pocket. Taking it out and looking at the ID he answered.
"Good afternoon Mr. Hatake-Umino." Sasuke said as he opened a drawer for a stamp.
"Iruka, just Iruka. Do you have some free time right now? I'd like to speak to you about Naruto." Iruka asked.
"Sure, I'll come over." Sasuke agreed as he finally found the stamps.
"No. Let's meet at the cafe off Crow Ave and Ant Blvd." Iruka directed.
"Oh, you mean the Desert Cafe? Sure, I'll see you there." Sasuke said and bid farewell to the older man.
Sasuke placed the stamp on the envelope and took it with him as he grabbed his car keys and slipped on his Nike sandals. He left the house with the envelope under his arm. He'd stop by the post office on his way. As he walked to his car, he looked over at Naruto's house to catch a glimpse of the blonde walking back inside. Smiling sadly, he turned and got into his car.
"I'll make it up to you." Sasuke whispered and started the car.
He pulled out and sped off to the post office.
At the post office Sasuke reread the contract to make sure it was his before he walked in. He waited in line. He looked around to pass the time of waiting when his eyes caught a pink color. He turned and instantly regretted it. Standing beside him in the other line was Sakura. She was holding a package and a few letters. Sasuke quickly looked back to the front hoping she didn't see him.
"Sasuke? Is that you? It is! How are you?" Sakura smiled.
"Fine." Sasuke answered wishing the line went faster.
"I'm just here dropping off a package and some letters for Ino. She's starting her college life soon." She beamed as if Sasuke really cared.
"Okay." Sasuke said moving up into the empty spot before him.
"What are you doing?" She asked.
"Something for my brother." Sasuke lied.
"Cool, how is Itachi?" Sakura asked leaning over.
"Fine."Sasuke answered.
"Next." The counter lady called out making Sakura stand up straight and head over there.
Thanking the counter lady Sasuke made it to his own and sent the contract out. He left before Sakura got any more ideas. He wasn't far from the cafe so he walked. It was nearly night now, but the cafe would still be open since it was a twenty-four hour one. Sasuke walked in and ordered his favorite drink from the place. He waited by the check out and looked around for a more private area to talk with Iruka. His drink was paid for, and he went to sit by the mini library that was in the back. He checked his phone before texting Iruka where he was.
Iruka came over with a cup of coffee and a muffin, Sasuke thought it funny because it was the same exact thing Naruto would order. The two sat quietly before Iruka cleared his throat.
"Why'd you break up with him?" Iruka asked picking at the muffin.
"I got this contract from my record label stating I needed to cut all ties with people that aren't family. I know now it was dumb and I want to apologize to him and make everything better." Sasuke answered digging his nails into the foam cup.
"I don't think that's possible. Naruto was very fond of you. You've hurt him badly. I don't think I can allow you to see him." Iruka said shaking his head.
"Please, I just want to apologize to him. I've fixed it. I redid the contract to where I can still be with everyone. I sent it today. Please Iruka, let me make it up to him." Sasuke begged.
"I don't know. He wouldn't stop crying for the longest. He even said he'd rather die than lose more people he loves. If I let you, you mustn't hurt him anymore." Iruka sighed.
He seemed tired. If Sasuke looked at him, he could tell the older man had stayed up with the crying blonde. He could tell that Iruka had tried to comfort Naruto with his arms because there were nail marks from Naruto scratch at him to leave him alone. He could tell Iruka didn't sleep in his bed, but on the floor of Naruto's room because he kept rubbing his lower back. He had worked the next morning too. Iruka looked like he could use a really long spa retreat. Sasuke didn't see that though. If Iruka looked at Sasuke he could see that he was gray. His pale skin didn't glow snow white like it did when he was around Naruto. His eyes dull, they were no longer shining with amusement when he looked at Naruto. Neither saw that the other was struggling with and without the blonde.
"Please, if I can't make him feel better, I'll stop trying and move away." Sasuke bargained.
Iruka sighed and took a sip of his now cold coffee, "Fine, but if I hear any yelling or crying, you're out." Iruka threatened.
Sasuke nodded feeling like he was flying. Iruka changed the topic to the contract and Sasuke explained it to him.
