My Song to You

Sasuke sat there quietly waiting for Naruto to gather the courage he must have needed to tell him this important thing. Naruto was nervous and scared that Sasuke might not like what he had to say. After so many years apart, and the threats Iruka had made against Sasuke for even trying to get close to Naruto he was sure that Sasuke wouldn't want to hear anything. Taking a deep breath Naruto calmed his mind of all the negative thoughts he had and tried to make his heartbeat normally. He couldn't obviously, he was in the same room as the person he lost everything to. His heart, his body, his love, everything Naruto had to offer Sasuke had taken. 

Naruto walked over to the fridge in the kitchen to be at a safer distance in case Sasuke decided to be violent after the news. Sasuke watched him curiously as he waited. The two were so quiet that they heard the door to the room Saruto was in open slowly. There were small footsteps approaching them. Naruto started to panic even more. He bit at his already bitten nails as his stomach sank to the floor when Saruto appeared from around the corner. He was rubbing his eye and yawning. 

Sasuke looked over at the small toddler then back at Naruto then back to Saruto. He noticed the kid looked a lot like Naruto except for the black hair. Something clicked in Sasuke's mind, and he could face his face getting red with anger. Naruto quickly rushed over and picked up Saruto only to dash back into his room and put the baby back to bed. 

"Naruto." Sasuke said through gritted teeth.

Naruto came out of Saruto's room with a finger over his mouth to tell Sasuke to shush. He pulled him over to his room and shut the door. 

"That's what I want to tell you." Naruto swallowed as he looked anywhere but at Sasuke.

"That you fucked some chick and got her pregnant and she left you?!" Sasuke yelled.

Naruto flinched at the tone Sasuke was using with him. He was shaking his head, "No! That's not it at all. If you'd let me tell you the truth you'd understand." Naruto fought back as tears welled up in his eyes.

He couldn't believe Sasuke would accuse him of sleeping with someone else. Sasuke crossed his arms over his chest and waited. Naruto swallowed the lump that was growing in his throat. He sat down on his bed and took a deep breath. What he was going to say was a complete lie to Sasuke, something so unreal that it couldn't be true. Or Sasuke believed him, and everything would be okay.

" I was the one that got pregnant." Naruto rushed out before sighing heavily.

His hands were sweaty with how nervous he was. His heart was racing as he kept his eyes shut tight afraid Sasuke was going to hit him. It was silent in the room. No one said a thing. Neither of the two boys moved let alone looked at the other. Naruto peeked through his lashes at Sasuke not wanting to feel even worse then he already did.

"By who?" Sasuke asked trying to calculate the time period of when Naruto got pregnant.

Naruto sighed thanking that he was semi calm about the news, and that Sasuke somehow believed him. Naruto rubbed his palms on his knees trying to get rid of the sweat as he straightened up. He took a few breaths before clearing his throat readying himself for the fight of a lifetime.

"By you." He said firmly as he made eye contact with Sasuke. 

Sasuke glared at Naruto, "Liar." He snarled. 

"The last time we did it was after a party we both attended for our labels. We were obviously drunk as hell. Iruka and Kakashi weren't around to stop me or you. That was four years ago. Saruto is f-" Naruto stated before being cut off by Sasuke

"You named him Saruto? Of all things." Sasuke laughed. 

Naruto wasn't sure if Sasuke believed him or if he was trying to stay calm in a fucked-up kind of way. Naruto didn't say anything after that. He wasn't sure if he should have. Maybe his words weren't coming out right, maybe Sasuke thought he was being stupid and a liar. Or jsut maybe Sasuke was actually happy about the news. Naruto didn't know. He was slowly losing himself to his mind again. He started thinking that Sasuke was going to yell at him once it settled. Or that the brunette was going to beat him up for lying and hurt Saruto. He thought Sasuke was going to walk out the door again and never come back, given he wasn't supposed to even be there now. Darker thoughts started to cloud his mind. Things like Sasuke never loved him and was going to kill him for lying about Saruto. That he shouldn't have been with someone like Naruto. 

Sasuke could see that Naruto was going off into some distant land. He wasn't too happy about not knowing about his child, if it really was his. What upset the most though was how dark Naruto's mind would get if he felt that things weren't going the way he thought they would. Naruto always had a positive outlook on life and many other things, but once he was alone with his mind it didn't matter. 

"I don't remember the party. I want a DNA test done right now." Sasuke said as he sat next to Naruto on the bed.

"Can we do that tomorrow, in the morning. We just got home after a tour. I haven't seen him in ages and I just want to sleep." Naruto whined.

Sasuke thought it over. He would get to sleep next to Naruto again if he said yes. 

"I'll sleep on the couch." Sasuke said and stood up.

"You can sleep here...next to me." Naruto said blushing lightly.

Sasuke smirked, least he knew Naruto didn't stop loving him. He walked back over the bed and tilted Naruto's chin.

"Just sleep?" Sasuke asked as he leaned over and kissed Naruto.
