I try picking him up but right now I'm not very strong, but I have to do this. For Jase. I hide him behind a big near by bush and decide it's better just to stay here. The dark angels will find me soon enough. I look Jase in the face again. His lips are frowning and I wish he would wake up, I don't like doing this on my own but maybe it's for the best. I'm sure he'll be fine and it gives me a chance to protect him more, because if he was awake it would probably be the other way around.
I feel a breeze, I know what that means. Carefully I step up from the ground and approach it as it's back is facing me. I pick up speed with my golden sword pointing towards him. Just as I get there the dark angel turns around but I'm already there, the sword hits into his chest. I put in as much pressure as I can and all I can think of is it's harassing screech. It's making me weaker but luckily it's too late. It's dead. Knowing that, I collapse to the hard and filthy ground and try to contain my energy and catch my breath again. My visions fading and I no longer know what's happening. I turn my head and the body of the dark angel has gone.
"April!" I hear my name along with hurried footsteps.
"April, are you okay?" Jase holds my face and plants a kiss on my forehead. "Oh my God." He murmurs quietly into my hair hugging me. "It's okay. it's over. they're all dead we did it! You did it! You did it April! I love you baby please speak!"
Through all of that I couldn't help but have a blank expressionless face attached to a body with barely any motion. I'm still tired but I need to respond to stop him worrying.
"Jase. I'm fine." I pass him a smile.
He picks me up bridle style walks trying to find a way out of the woods. About three minutes later we see Emily.
"Emily girl! Come her Emily!"
Jase helps me up onto Emily and I hug around her neck. I was so worried I wouldn't get to see her again. I honestly don't know what I would do without her!
It takes us fifteen more minutes to get out of the wood and by the time we do I'm right as rain again. It's as if Emily gave me my strength back. I put Emily away while casually talking to Jase as if nothing ever happened. Well if someone over heard us talking about it they would send us to a mental hospital! It isn't until we're walking back to the refuge with no one around to hear us that we allow ourselves to talk about it.
"Well... That was... Not something I expected..." Jase starts.
"Well it's good to know I must not be crazy! I was actually questioning my sanity but seeing as that just happened with you too I think I at least part sane."
"Part sane? Nah I don't think any part of you is sane! You never know this whole thing could just be in your head!" He teases with I smirk on his face making it obvious that he's joking. Boy, I love that flaming popular smirk of his!
"Oh please!" I smile at him.
We get to outside of the refuge and his parents are there with my mum.
"There you two are!" My mum said but she didn't sound mad.
"We were wondering where you were." Jase's dad says.
"Sorry we lost track of time." I use to cover up.
"Well come on Jason we better go." His mum says.
"Okay then. It's nice to meet you!" He says to my mum and then turns around to face me. "I'll see you tomorrow April." Then he kisses me and I swear it's the best feeling in the world and it just feels so nice, even though my mum and his parents are right here with us. I don't care and I'm glad he doesn't either.
