My Horse's Angel

Chapter 17

"Oh my gosh! April! Honey are you okay? Oh god no!" My mum cries.

I can kind of hear her but.. I can't open my eyes. What is this? I only remember that evil guy smashing my head hard against the door.

I can feel my mum picking me up, and can tell she's struggling on her feet going downstairs. Then seconds later I feel fresh air. The outside. My mums sniffing and she sits me in the back of the car. I feel her put on my seat belt and hear her shut the door.

About, what? maybe ten minutes later? I hear her shut the door.

Mum, don't leave me!

Where are you going?

Oh my gosh I can't even talk!

Help I hate this! I'm still in dreadful pain. I feel like I just want to crawl up and die. But I couldn't anyway, because I can't crawl. I'm hopelessly trapped inside my body, with only thoughts and excruciating pain existing.

Suddenly I hear the car door open. The fresh outside air hits me again, like a slap around the face.

I'm placed on something. Being wheeled somewhere? Where? What's going on?

Mum! I don't like it! Help me, where are we? I cry trying to scream to my mum.

Oh mum. Why did dad have to do this?

I'm woken up later by.... A doctor? He's wearing a white coat. Considering what happened last night I could be...

"April. How are you? I'm Doctor Russell." He states clearly in a calm voice.

I look around for my mum.

OUCH THAT HURTS! It's going. I'm going. The world stating to go dark again..

"April? April?" Doctor Russell shakes me. The room lightens up again.

"How are you feeling? Talk to me, I'm here to help you." He has dark skin, I'm guessing he has origins from Africa but he speaks with a British accent. He seems nice and friendly. I hope so...

"I-I-It hurts. A lot." I manage to say.

"I know dear, it will do. Do you remember what happened? I want to see if you remember, and your mum has only told us about her story and how she found you." He says with a comforting look in his eyes. Well I'm sorry, but it doesn't work to comfort me.

"M-mum. Where's my mum? I-I need her!" I say starting to cry.

When will these tears stops coming?

"You're mum has been seen to by the doctors. she has a lot of bruising and now has medication, but she will be fine. Now she's talking to a professional about what happened." He says slowly and relaxed.

"Really? Sh-sh-she's never told anyone before! We need help!" I say crying even harder now. I'll be surprised if the floor isn't flooded by the time I'm done.

"It's okay! every thing will be okay April! You're getting help, it's going to be fine." He rubs my arm comfortingly.

He sounds so sure but it's different when you've seen it happen again and again. There's sure to be a next time. At that thought I let out a whimper.

"So do you remember what happened? Please tell me April. I'm here to help, okay?"

"O-okay." I say through tears and Doctor Russell hands me a tissue.

"Hang on, I'll raise you're bed."

I flinch as the bed goes up slowly. It way be slow but the movement hurts my head.
