I wake up to my alarm clock and turn it off. I then drag myself out of bed and get my clothes out of my wardrobe. I then go into the bathroom to get ready for the day ahead. I can't wait till Kitty comes over after school.
I go downstairs and out to the stable. As usual, I feed the horses and tick them off on the board. I take Ellen, Poppy and Jennifer out to paddock 2 this time. I also check on the male horses in their separate stable. I look at the board there and see that they haven't been fed yet. I then feed each one while checking over them and stroking them.
Allen has a bad leg at the moment, he scrapped his leg on a jump a few days ago. It bled a bit but seemed fine, even so we got the vet to take a look. She put a bandage on it and said just to keep and eye on him and put fresh bandages on daily. I took it off and cleansed the wound, it is healing nicely so the bandage should be off soon. it's still on now just to make sure the wound doesn't come open when he's in the field, if it did then an infection could get in. I carefully wrap a new bandage around his leg. He's a beautiful chestnut brown. My mum always loves to ride on him.
I go back into the house and make breakfast. I stick some bread in the toaster and pour myself a glass of orange juice. No ones downstairs yet. I wrote on the board in the stable that I've done Allen's bandage, so that's fine. I pop the TV on and put on Coranation Street. When the toast is ready I quickly butter them so the butter melts. I love having toast that way. I sit on the sofa watching the telly and eat.
After that I go up to my room, grab my bag and start to walk to the bus stop. When I get there Kitty isn't there yet, so I pull out my phone and text her.
Hey, I'm at the bus stop. Where are you? Xxx
I then get a reply more or less straight away.
Hi, I was about to text you! sorry I won't be on the bus. I'll see you later at school. I forgot I have a doctors appointment, I'll be at school later. Xxxxx
Oh yeah it must be her appointment about her ankle. She fell off her bike two months ago. she got her leg trapped under the wheel. the result of this is that it was badly cut and she had to go to hospital to have stitches. She was on her own when it happened so she called her mum, who then drive in her car to get her. Her ankle's fine now but she told me before it's just for a check up. She said if everything's fine (which it seems it is) it should be the last appointment.
Then the bus comes and I choose the window seat, sitting on my own. I didn't mind to much. at least I have time to daydream.
