Chapter 19

"Hello Mrs Lilic." Greeted Jase when he saw my mum. "Hi April."

"Hello." Said Kitty to us both.

"Hello Kitty and Jase." Says my mum before turning to face me. "I'll be in the cafe. Text me if you need anything."

"Hi, how are you?" Kitty said when my mum was gone.

"Better, I guess."

"I got you these." Jase says handing me some beautiful flowers and kissing me gently on the cheek.

They're lovely flowers and they're all different purple flowers! I guess he remembered that purples my favourite colour. I told him at some point in the past, probably years ago. He's so sweet and he kissed me!

"Thank you, I love them!"

"I got you a card and mars bar!" Kitty says handing me an envelope and mars bar.

"Thanks babe!" I say giving her a playful wink, which she then returns. "So how was school?"

"Urgggg too much! Boring! Boring! Boring already and even worse without you!" Kitty complains with a frown.

"Same, boring." Says Jase.

"So do you know what's happening with Emily? Asks Kitty.

"Yeah, at some point today the RSPCA are taking her to this stables she's going to board at."

"Is it near to where you'll live?"

"Kind of but it's nothing like having the stables outside your house."

"Yeah.. I feel sorry for all the others. What's happening with the house?"

"The police have been there inspecting it. Last I heard dads on bail and then there will be loads of court cases. He wasted the money he had in pocket on alcohol so he can't get out of bail. The house and stables will probably get sold."

"Couldn't you move back? or if you bought if again if it had to be sold?" Jase then asks.

"It depends. it's not safe at the moment we have to live at the refuge. The court case could take ages. If he goes to prison for a long time then maybe, but not if he's around."

"I'm sorry." Jase says looking at me with a sad expression in his eyes.

"So am I, but it's fine. The past is coming to an end." I state.

"How come you never told me?" Kitty asks with tears in her eyes.

"It wasn't that simple... I was scared when it was happening.. But afterwords it seemed ok. Apart from how my mum was behaving of course. She was on depression pills from the doctor but never told him details. she never told anyone. It was just because she was scared and couldn't think right. she did the best she could. She refused to take her pills a lot of the time, which meant more arguments between her and dad, and she didn't go to her cancelling. She said there was no point and she was fine. I was ok. I was never harmed or depressed."

"But it was obviously hard for you being around that! And it could've easily been you, you came so close." Kitty says with tears sliding down her face. Even Jase looks like he might be keeping in some tears.

"Well I'm fine now. Me and my mum. We'll be ok." I sit up using the strength I've been saving up so I can give Kitty a hug.

When she pulls away she wipes her tears and i get a hug from Jase. When he pulls away slightly he crashes his lips into mine. It is the best feeling I have ever felt. It's passionate and I can tell it's full of love. His tongue makes it's self at home exploring my mouth and mine does the same to his. When we pull away Kitty's looking at us smiling and she winks at me.

"So what's in this magazine then?" She thankfully changes the subject to prevent it from being awkward. I love that girl!

We open up the magazine so it's on my lap. Kitty sits in the bedside chair and Jase sits to my other side on my bed. While we laugh together, read and look through the mag he sweetly holds my hands. Every now and again he squeezes my hand which I do back.

I could get used to this!

Apart from hopefully outside of this hospital.

I guess I'm lucky in a way, because I don't mind hospitals much. It can be quite boring though when there's nothing to do. I then Realise at the refuge I won't have my laptop or any personal belongings. I won't even be able to read and what about my school books? Oh no... If only this happened in like year seven, my books wouldn't have mattered much then!
