So I'm in the car once again. It is now around twenty to eight and we've only been in the car for five minutes.
"...So I won't need picking up later." I say to Suzy after explaining my plan for after school.
"Okay, have fun then."
"I will thanks. I can't wait to see Emily. I guess we'll just walk her around for a bit in the woods."
"Does she like going into the woods? Did you have one at your stables at home?"
"Yeah we did. she loves it! especially when we jump over logs or gallop down the track."
"See you later!" Suzy says before I shut the door.
"Bye!"
"Hey!" Kitty says and we exchange our usual hugs. Yep lots of hugs.
"Hi babes!" I stick my tongue out at her, which she then does the same.
"I need to talk to you." She says pulling me into the empty toilets, where we last did our make up.
"Go on."
"It's about Louie."
I swear the light just flicked.
"Did you see that?"
"What? Are you listening?" She says giving me a disappointed frown.
"The light." I say looking into the mirror.
Haha it would be so funny if this was a Bloody Mary moment! Well maybe it wouldn't be... the thought of it happening's kinda cool though!
"April? The lights fine! So about Louie!"
"Yes..." I say willing her to continue.
"He has two sisters y'know. He couldn't go out yesterday because he was looking after the youngest one, Abby."
"Right?" I say nodding. Where does she think she's going with this?
"The other ones called Christy."
"Christy! Like Christine! That girl in Alice-Lucy's story!" I bust out.
Wait a minute... Shit, like in the story.
"Oh April.." She sighs.
"What? you know she's real! you saw her."
"I know, I know. But what if she's.. Y'know..."
"No, I don't know! What?" the hell is she on about?
"What if she's bad? Think about it, what happened last weekend. You could have ended up dead or raped! If she was an angel, then where was she? Not much of a guardian angel I don't think!"
"Well she's not my angel, she's Emily's!" I feel the need to defend her. I may have only seen her once but she's not evil!
"And? That makes no difference!"
"But... She was there."
"Was she? Yeah right! you haven't said anything about it." She looks at me like I've gone mad.
"I heard... I heard a voice saying something... Telling me I could do it and I needed to do it for my mum, that she believed in me." I cast my mind back.
"And you think it was Alice-Lucy?" she asks.
"Well who else? it sounded like her."
"Hmmm."
"ANYWAY! Back to the point! What were you saying about his sister? Christy?"
"Oh yeah! She's depressed. Last night it was really bad for her. Blood everywhere in the bathroom. Louie had to bandage her up and clean up. His parents are away at the moment. in the night she was really ill. Said she overdosed and he had to phone an ambulance. She's still there now but obviously he had to come in for school."
