My Horse's Angel

Chapter 10

I have two exams today and I'm on my way to my first one. Maths non-calculator. I've already done my first maths one, which was the mental one, earlier this week. Thank God for Friday! I was revising for two hours last night after riding. Speaking of riding, my mum is meant to be giving me a lesson on Sunday afternoon. I wonder how that would go.

It's second period, Kitty missed her first lesson which I think was History. It's our exam that she can't miss so she should be here. I look around stressing. She needs to be here, this exam is important! The teachers are now letting us in to take our places. There's five minutes until the exam starts. we're meant to be here early to find our places and get ready.

I walk over to where about my seat was last time. I find my place that says: April Lilic, and sit down. I place my 2 pencils, a pen, rubber, a compass and protractor on to the table that I was holding. They check double check everything we have, once when we're outside the hall and again when we're sat down. All our bags are outside so we can't sneak anything in to cheat.

I gaze over to the door as people are still flowing through. Sure enough I see her coming in. finally. She takes her seat which is over the other side of the room near to the front. It's in alphabetical order as so is everything. Her full name is Kitty Biolex.

The room is silent as the teachers go round checking our equipment, while also handing out tracing paper. After they have finish they remind us that we start when the bell for next lesson goes.

The bell rings loudly and we start, the sound of turning pages is heard throughout the hall.

The maths exam is now done and we slowly filter out of the hall. Kitty is in the canteen holding my bag for me.

"Hey! How was that for you then?" kitty asks cheerfully.

"Hi and errr it was okay I guess. How was it for you?" I reply offering her a smile.

"I think I did good. Do you have food or are you buying?" It was break now and we always have our snacks.

"I've got mine what about you? You going in the canteen? or are you seeing whose selling?" People weren't meant to sell, but of course they did anyway. Just not with the teachers knowing.

"I'm gonna see if Jase is selling, if that's okay."

"Yeah let's go."

Jase being short for Jason. Jason Flith to be exact. He's cool. fairly popular, not a dick head and genuinely a nice guy. He's not bad looking either.

We find him by the maths block outside, where him and his lot usually are.

"Jase!" Kitty calls out as we get closer. "Are you selling."

"Yeah what do you want? I have the usual stock." He says with his casual white teeth showing smile.

Him with his black hair, tall stance, perfect un blotchy un spotty face. He's quite muscular too. oh I'd love to see those abs beneath his shirt...

"K April let's go." Kitty says to me and starting to walk away. When I realise it's back to reality I follow after her. I then see that she's bought one Twix and one Mars bar.

"Here ya go." She says handing me the Mars bar.

"But-"

"-No, don't say you have food! I know you have good but you're having this! it's your favourite so eat it!" She says taking no time at all to interrupt me.

"Fine!" I say pretending to be annoyed unwrapping it.

"So... What was that?" she asks. Hmm?

"What was what?" I say taking a bite out of the Mars bar.

"Oh... You know... Just casually spacing off while staring at Jase. But no, nothing really." She says teasingly.

"WHAT? you noticed? Who else noticed? Did he notice? Oh my gosh i wasn't really staring was I?" I question her without pausing for a breath.

"Ahahha" she laughs. "Well yeah you kind of were staring... HE didn't notice but I don't know about the others. Ahahaa"

Oh my gosh! They're gonna think I like him! I don't like him! Not like that anyway!

"April and Jase, sitting in a tree, K I S S I N G!" Kitty sings annoying me.

"No! I DON'T like him!" I protest.

"Yes you do, just admit it! You were so checking him out just then!"

"No I was not! I was just... Thinking. About..." I struggle with the rest of my sentence.

"HIM!" She finishes for me.

"No! Yes. Maybe... Just his.. I mean... He's good looking. That's ALL I was thinking!" I admit. She's not getting anymore out of me than that, because that's all I think!

Then the bell goes.

"I have philosophy, what do you have?" Kitty asks.

"I have... Oh yeah science. Biology."

"Have fun!"

"You to kitty!" I send her a stern look.

"We'll finish our conversation at lunch!" She says confidently.

"There's nothing to finish!" I shout after her as we walk our separate ways. Oh great, this boring lesson and then the Geography exam after lunch! Cutting my lunch down by ten minutes might I add!"
