I unpack my pages that they packed for me, mum has already unpacked her stuff. The room looks so bare. Our beds are made in a mid blue duvet with a darker blue chequer pattern. The pillow cases are the same mid blue. We each have two pillows.
The sofa is the same shade of mid blue and the curtains are the plain shade of the dark blue. There isn't a carpet, but instead laminate flooring.
When you go through the door there's my mums single bed, directly opposite the door is the bathroom. When you go around the corner of the main room, my bed is against the bathroom wall. The sofa's against the window, the small TV and DVD player being of a shelf on the wall of my bed. The wardrobe is in between my mums bed and the sofa. Then lastly the desk is on the same wall as the head of my bed.
Once I've put my clothes in the wardrobe, there's a knock on the door.
"Hello!" I hear a strangers voice once mums answered the door.
"Hi Suzy, come in."
Suzy?
"You must be April!" she says welcomingly and puts down the black box she's holding to hug me.
"Yeah, hi?"
"Suzy lives across the hall at number 21." Mum fills me in.
"Ok." I answer.
"I've got your school stuff that they dropped off earlier. It has your laptop in as well." Suzy says skidding the box over to me.
"Oh my gosh really?" I say looking inside. Sure enough my laptops on the top.
"Yep. All of your books and things should be there. Here's you're school bag, it was all by your desk so hopefully that's all of it. At least that's what they told me anyway."
I empty the box onto my bed, slowly lifting everything out. after I do the same to my bag, I can safely say I have everything for school.
"You're alright to go to school tomorrow are you?" My mum asks pouring us all a cup of tea. Oh yeah, there's also a kettle on the desk.
"I guess so." I say with a sigh.
It will be good to go to school to keep up with revision and see Kitty and Jase. Also so I can do my exams there, because I can't miss them. Other than that though I can't be bothered. Although my head was bleeding it wasn't badly cut, it was mostly just how hard I bashed my head. Well, they bashed my head. Damn druggies and alcoholics! My head only has minor scratches that are thankfully covered by my hair.
"You're alright to buy lunch aren't you?"
"Yes mum."
"I'll be driving you to school tomorrow." Says Suzy.
Wait a minute...
"Mum what happened to your car?"
Why didn't I realise this when we were going home on the taxi? I blame what happened to my head! Obviously it isn't because of that but still... I can use it as an excuse if I want to!
"Your Grandad came and took it away. It's your dad's property, it's in his name."
Oh great so we have no proper home, barely any belongings, not many spare clothes, but not what? Oh yeah we don't have a car either! This just gets better doesn't it?
"Suzy says she'll help us though."
"So we have to leave at twenty to eight, i'll meet you in the common room."
"Okay, so what time will be get to school?"
"Around ten past eight. In the morning it takes about half an hour because of distance and traffic."
