"OH MY GOSH IVE GOT A BOYFRIEND!!!!" We both shout and hug each other and continue to jump up and down.
"I TOLD YOU HE LIKED YOU!" Kitty screamed excitedly.
"AND I TOLD YOU THAT YOU HAD A CHANCE!"
*Knock knock*
"Yes!" I say and my mum opens the door.
"If you're done screaming can you girls get Kitty's stuff and get in the car?" She said but she was smiling. she obviously heard us screaming and she actually seems happy. Suddenly sadness swells up inside me. She's never happy anymore. Not since that day...
"Yes mrs Lilic!" Kitty says very happy.
I grab kitty's school bag and she takes her bag with the stuff in for last night. We run down the stairs giggling and race to the car.
"WOO I WON!" Kitty yells.
A few riders are here as a group on their horses and look over at us.
"Well not all of us are the cross country champions!" I say still smiling. Funny how one question can make you so happy!
"Well... I only have five medals!" She says not being modest at all. She's seriously good at cross country. I've done cross country with her - well attempted, and I failed miserably!
"Okay get in the car you two!" My mum laughed.
I wish I heard that more often.
But what's different about today? She had an argument with dad this morning, but still she seems a lot better...
When we get back home from dropping Kitty off my mum makes conversation with me.
"So you have a boyfriend now huh?" she nudges me smiling.
It seems just like the joking around and close conversations like we use to have...
I try to be happier again and put these dampening thoughts to the back of my head.
"Yep!"
"What's this lucky lads name?"
"Jase.." I can tell I'm going red.
"Jase? as in the Jase that went to your primary school?"
"Yes mum."
"Awwww! I always thought you'd make a good couple!"
I kind of want to ask mum about what's been happening... But I don't want to ruin her great mood. What if she ends up shouting or crying. Then it would be straight back to the beginning. Part of me thought her great mood would be over after we dropped kitty off. she always seems happier around her now a days... I know she still loves me like I used to...
"Really mum?" I say kind of giving her a half smirk.
"Yeah of course! Mothers know these things you know!"
"Sure!"
"So do you want to tell me all about it? I want every single detail!" She seemed very bubbly and enthusiastic still.
Just like she used to be when we always talked...
So that's what I did! I told her all about my whole day! Even the part about getting kicked out of WHSmiths! She still laughed to that and told me to continue.
So why now am I crying on my bed hours later? I had a good time downstairs with my mum after all. We even watched a rom com, and she even laughed at the funny scenes.
Why? Because it was like last time. Unfortunately after the sunny spells there will still be a downpour later...
