CHAPTER EIGHTEEN;
• A DAY WITH MADDIE •

"do you guys have thousands of mansions and cars? are you guys like crazy rich?" dustin asks.

"do you guys have a private jet?" will asks.

"we have 9 mansions, 4 cars and 1 jet." el answers.

"do you guys have your own pool?" mike asks.

"everyone had their own." she answers.

"what about... an arcade?" max asks.

"we own arcades but they're not necessarily ours. they owe us debts and we owe their stuff until they pay us back." she explains.

"what else do you guys own?" lucas asks.

"i'm not sure, my father dealt with those stuff, i just knew about these things from kai and the screaming phone calls." she tells them.

"did you ever torture people like in those movies?" mike asks.

she nods, "forced to. didn't wanna."

"oh. that's bad." he says as she nods.

"it was quite traumatic but i'm fine now!" she giggles quietly, covering her mouth to stop the giggles.

"then how did you brother fake his death?" dustin asks.

"he told me that after my dad shot him, his men sent him to the hospital. my dad saw him for a second which was when he was sent to the hospital. kai gave my dads men money to tell him he died and for some reason my dad didn't look into it." she explains.

"and you didn't know?" he asks.

"no or else i wouldn't have done some stupid things." she chuckles.

"like what?" max asks as she shrugs.

"story for another time." she simply says before she stops walking, "i'm home, see you guys tomorrow. thanks for today."

"bye el!" mike waves as the party does the same.

"bye!" she skips to the cabin.

she hums, grabbing her keys and unlocking the door.

"janey, you really need to lock your window." kai appears as she jumps.

"jesus, kai! you can't just sneak into my home!" she shoves his chest, slamming the door shut.

"hey! you're scaring my daughter." he says as she turns to see maddie set in front of the tv.

"i hate you." she whispers, walking over to maddie, "hi baby. you liking barbie?" she picks her up and gives her a kiss.

"if you want some of your old knifes they're in my room." she stands up, maddie placed on her hip as she walks to her room.

"you can keep them, you need them." kai says as she hums, laying down on her bed with maddie on top of her.

"i've been meaning to ask you something." he speaks up as she nods for him to continue.
