"is it bad we are eating without the party?" el asks, setting down her stuff on the desk.

"they can deal with themselves, we will just eat with them tomorrow." mike says, sitting down as el shuts the door.

"okay. also, i have to show you something!" she says excitingly.

"what is it?" he asks.

"it's a tik tok dance... i think that's what it is. but let's do it!" she giggles.

"i don't dance, el." he says as she pouts.

"why? it's fun!" she pokes his cheek, sitting down on the table criss cross and takes out her phone.

"this one!" she shows him her phone, "isn't it so cute?"

"there's this other one but it's not a dance."

"i would much rather do a not a dance one."

"you wouldn't like that one either so let's stick to the dance, yeah?"

"what is it." he smirks as she shakes her head.

"i'll show you later, are you going to do the dance with me or not?" she asks.

"maybe." he grins as she huffs.

"whatever then." she mumbles, then squints at her screen.

"are the words really tiny or...?" he asks.

"no. kai's calling for some reason." she answers the call, "hello?"

"got a gift for you, want to wrap it?" kai asks and she can basically hear the smirk in his voice.

"and what did this gift do?" she knew it wasn't just any gift.

"the usual but then he added a few comments about mama-"

"be there in 10." she cuts him off, jumping off the table.

"i need you to drive me to kai's." she turns to mike.

he bites his sandwich, "why?"

"i have a gift to wrap up. come with me." she smiles as he nods, "okay then." he stands up grabbing his stuff.

she gets out of the room, exiting the library as he chases behind her. she was moving really fast. they made it out to the parking lot and she made her way to his car as he gets in with a sigh.

"what exactly are we going to do?" he asks, exiting the parking lot.

"torture. no one talks bad about my mama." she puts her legs up on the dashboard and then crosses her arms.

he just nods and continues driving. not long later, they arrive at kai's house and she quickly walks in.

"no need for the rush, little sis." kai grins.

she throws her bag onto the floor since she saw maddie run towards her, "my girl! hi, i missed you." she kisses her cheek.
