CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR;
• GOOD OLD DAYS •

"oh el! what are you doing here?" fiona asks, opening the door and smiling widely.

"is kai around?" she asks, fiddling with the hem of her skirt.

"yes, just in the kitchen with maddie." fiona opens the door wider for her to walk in.

el thanks her quietly, "uh, you can just go do your stuff, i'll be fine."

"okay then." fiona smile, giving her a small wave before walking off.

el then makes her way to the kitchen, already hearing their voices from the hallway.

there maddie was, sat on his shoulder as he makes food for the both of them.

"dada! i want bite of toast." maddie huffs, tugging onto kai's hair.

"mads, babe, you gotta let go of my hair first. here." he gives her a bite of the toast as she laughs.

"yummy!" she grins.

"looks like you've finally mastered some type of food." el speaks up, her arms crossed and leaning against the door frame. she looks up, "hi brother."

"janey... um, maddie, why don't you go get dressed up. you said you wanted to try to change into that dress for me, right?" kai puts maddie down as smiles widely. "okay!" she exclaims loudly before running away, "hi el! bye el!" she says on her way out.

"you finally forgave me?" he asks, walking towards her.

"well, i can't stay mad at you forever. we have to talk eventually and i do indeed miss you." she says softly as he smiles widely.

"janey, i knew you couldn't stay mad forever! let's go somewhere together, for fun." he says quickly.

"where? i want us to talk... still, okay?" she asks as he nods. "we can go to the rink. we haven't skated together in a long time."

"okay then. what about maddie?" she asks.

"my sweet girl can tag along with my other sweet girl and watch us skate." he smirks as she chuckles, shaking her head.

"maddie! we're going out, baby! come show me your outfit!" he shouts.

"COMING DADA!" she shouts back as el laughs, walking to the living room.

"yes, maddie! what a beautiful dress!" el claps, "come here, sweetie." she opens her arms as maddie runs towards her.

"you did a great job in dressing yourself, baby." kai smiles at her.

maddie smiles back, "where we going?"

"we are going to the ice skating rink." el tells her, picking her up and then kisses her cheek, "you can go eat ice cream."

"okay!" maddie agrees as they walk out to the car.

"can't believe you paid that dude off to book this whole place." el chuckles as they skate out into the rink. "and i can't believe we can still fit into our old skates." he says.
