CHAPTER TWENTY;
• CARE ABOUT MY FEELINGS •

"jane- el, please talk to me. you haven't spoken a word all night." kai sighs as he speeds through a red light.

tears continue to stream down her face silently as she looks out the window.

"angel, please." he begs for the thousandth time that night.

"don't even angel me." she whispers, shaking her head and holds back a sob.

"i had to, janey. believe me, the first thing i wanted to do after it was safe for me, was to kill him. for you!" he exclaims.

"i don't need you to do that for me! stop the damn car." she demands.

"jane, we're like 5 minutes from your-

"STOP THE DAMN CAR!" she screams loudly as the tears stream faster.

he quickly stops and she unbuckles her seatbelt and opens the car door. she gets out silently and then turns around.

"i fucking hate you, you're a liar! you hurt me!" she slams the door before walking off.

"jane! come back!" he follows her in the car.

she takes off her heals and starts to walk barefoot instead. she continues to ignore him until she sees the small path to the cabin.

the path was all sand so once she arrived she ran. she ran until she saw the cabin and thankfully kai didn't follow her.

she slammed the door open quickly, throwing her heels across the cabin making hopper sit up quickly.

"kid?" he pipes up as she screams.

"woah, woah. calm down. first off, you look fancy, second off, why do you have your shoes off?"

"he lied to me. first he tricked me into a mafia dinner then i had to fight someone and i think i ended up killing him because i can't control emotions and then... and then i was informed that HE KILLED FATHER!" she shouts, holding her forehead in tiredness.

"i can't deal with my life right now." she sobs, "i- i want to leave, i hate everything, it's all just so stressful." she whimpers as he walks over to hold her.

"el-"

"why? just why?" she pushes him away before storming off to her room.

"el, open the door." he knocks but instead she locks it.

"i want to be alone." she cries as her head bangs on the door, "please."

"god, please." she whispers, sliding down the door.

"kid...."

she doesn't reply as she breathes harder. her vision was getting blurry and she blinks away the tears as she searches her room.

and then she found it... in her drawer.

she promised, she did.
