Chapter 19

Stephen's POV.

"Naiinggit ako sa 'yo kuya, paglaki ko maghahanap din ako ng girlfriend na mas maganda pa kay Ate Celestine."

I looked at Selestiel. He is sitting in our kitchen counter, kumakain ng cereal.

"Kapag matanda ka na," I told him. Nasa harap niya na ako ngayon. Magbi-breakfast na rin.

"Sa tingin ko kuya, meant to be kami ni Ate Celestine, magkatunog yung name namin- Celestine-Selestiel—"

Hindi ko na siya pinatapos dahil pinakain ko sa kanya yung hawak kong tinapay.

"Kumain ka ng marami ng mabusog ka," sabi ko, sinamaan lang ako ng tingin nito.

Kinuha ko ang cellphone ko, sumilip din ako sa relo ko. It is 8 AM, so 8 PM na roon sa kanya.

I called her, my girlfriend, Celestine.

Nauna akong umuwi ng bansa, I won't stay here for good pa, dahil may mga tatapusin din ako sa Cuba. I just needed to go home under my father's order.

Nakailang ring na pero hindi niya pa rin sinasagot. Tulog na ba sya? I was about to hang up the phone ng sumagot sya.

I was so excited kahit ilang araw pa lang kaming hindi nagkikita, I miss her so bad.

"Bubby!"

"Capt." Mabilis na nadismaya ako nung si Cath ang sumagot sa kabilang linya. "Capt pasensya na po, nasa operating room pa po si Miss President, major operation po kaya halos anim na oras na po siya roon sa loob."

"I see, naabutan na kayo ng curfew dyan," I told her. "Please make sure she gets rest, tawagan na lang niya ako kapag nakapagpahinga na sya."

"Okay, Capt."

"Take care of her Cath, thank you," I told her. Natapos na ang tawag pero nasa isip ko pa rin sya.

That woman. She really loves her job. To be honest, she doesn't need to work pero I guess my little angel loves saving lives.

My Celestine Montenegro.

"Hey, samahan mo ako," I told Selestial nung mapadaan ito sa 'kin.

"What now?" iritado nitong sagot sa 'kin.

"Wag mo kong sungitan, only Celestine can do that to me."

"Whatever kuya."

"Samahan mo ko."

"Kung ayoko—"

"Sasamahan mo ko," I said. "And please stop sending DM to your Ate Celestine, I can see it." Pang-aasar ko rito.

"What? I really like her!"

That day was actually one of the special day with me. Selestiel and I went to pick up a special ring. I specifically designed and asked a famous jeweller to make it months ago.

The ring, that I will use to ask for her hand and if she will say yes, I will give her this engagement ring.

I know, two years pa lang kami pero wala na akong nakikita at gustong makasama bukod sa kanya. I want to grow old and take care of her forever.

Mahal na mahal ko siya. She changed the world I know, she made me realize how strong a woman can be. She makes me feel loved pero at the same time, she never let me thinks that she is only living for me.

In one look, in one word. I know she wants me in her life but do not necessarily need me.

At kapag pinakawalan ko pa sya, I will forever regret it, so I will take my chance and ask her to be my wife.
