"Hey, are you okay? You've been off the whole time." Blake, my coworker comments.
"Yeah, is something wrong?" Jean backs her up.
My head snaps up a it was looking down at my dirty white, converse tennis. "Everything's fine. I've just had a rough week plus yesterday we went to watch a game and I got so drunk I passed out. I think I am still hungover."
Blake groans. "Good lord, do I know what that's like."
Truth is, I've been thinking about Kellan all day. From my Designing for Engineering class to my suck ass Ethics class to my late shift at the coffee shop. He texted me earlier just as I was entering the place, he just said he'd be home by five so We could have the first, second session today.
Thing have changed between us, we are both agreeing on the attraction we feel but at the same time not moving forward and I like that, I guess. As long as I can keep stealing kisses. Good God, can that man kiss.
"Ry?"
"Umm, what? Sorry I zoned out."
Jean crosses her arms across her chest. "Hmmm...sure you're okay?"
"Yes, of course. It's just been a real long day."
"I feel you." She rubs my back understandingly. "Maybe some coffee will help you through the rest of your shift."
Yeah, maybe. I serve my favorite vanilla-caramel mocha and sip on the warm beverage. The sales today have been rather slow, so to avoid Blakeley and Jean's prodding eyes, I escape to the "Personnel Only" area. Inhaling deeply, I seep on the coffee and nibble on a Caramel cookie.
When I am done, I walk over to the door opening it up, dusting off my hands and apron before dumping the coffee cup and napkin in the trashcan. As I return to my place at the register, the bell above the door chimes, signaling the entrance of a new costumer. My breath halts then hitches when I see it's him. The guy I've been day dreaming about all day. A smile brightens his face and I suddenly realize I'm doing the same thing. Bitting the corner of my bottom lip, I try to hide my smile.
"What can I do you for?" i say and rephrase when I se his suggestive smirk. "What can I do for you?"
"Coffee, plain and black."
"Huh, I never would have imagined you as a plain and black coffee guy."
"I guess it comes with the profession." He smiles subtly as he hands me the cash.
"I bet your coffee is a thousand times better than this one." I say as I move o pour his coffee.
"There's just this pretty worker here who I am really looking forward to seeing later today but couldn't quite wait as much." Blushing, I hand him his coffee.
"Do I know her?"
"I don't know, I guess so. Her name is a boy's name. Mayan, Bryan, something like that."
"Hmm, never heard of her."
"Weird." He smiles, flashing me those dimples. "Well, I'll see you around."
"Yup, see you around."
With one final smile and wink he leaves. Dear God, when did I turn into a teenager? I flush again against my own will and when I turn around, all the blood that had surface just got drained.
Shit! I forgot Jean and Blake were around. Double shit! Nat and Matty are with them.
Blake's eyebrows raise suggestively. "From a dull black and grey to multi-colored and HD in mere seconds. What was that about?"
