Ryanne
Midday came way to fast for my liking. To make matters worst, a ragging headache is ensuing. I groggily rise from my bed, determined to head to the bathroom. Taking my sleepwear off, I enter the shower letting the spray soothe my head, ridding it of the pain. I wash my hair and lather my body with my vanilla scented body wash.
Once I'm out of the shower, I can finally open my eyes perfectly and adjust to the light. I change into comfortable cut offs and a T-shirt, untangle my hair and make my way to the kitchen.
Hmm...I need to go grocery shopping. I barely have edible food here. Grabbing the last two loafs of bread I have, I put them in the toaster, snatching the butter minutes later. When they come up, I spread the butter on them, then take out the last of my strawberries. Moving to my beloved window seat, I people watch as I eat my super breakfast at midday. Just as I take the first bite, I see Kellan's car getting into his parking space. Guess the bitch decided to not be a bitch today and work. I watch him all the way to the door. I continue munching on my food and as the last of my berries enters my mouth, Kellan is entering his car but this time he's wearing not-casual clothes. It takes a while I guess for it to start but finally it does and he drives away.
I rinse my plate then walk to my room to put on my Converse. Once I've grasped my keys, I stalk all the way to my car. Driving to the nearest grocery store, which had all I needed last time, I realize how effortless this past three weeks of independence have been. It's the second time I'm buying groceries and apparently I did great the first time. I take hold of a basket the minute I am inside and start grabbing things from the isles. As I am looking at all the cereal brands, I notice the one I like is at the very top. Awesome! An indirect way to make fun of short people. I stretch as much as I can. Nothing. I stand on my tip toes. Nada. I try just standing on one foot and stretching my arm to reach and whooooa. Well, isn't this embarrassing? I think as I start apologizing to the man I just stumbled into.
"Oh my, I am so sorry. I didn't mean to do that. I just couldn't reach the cereal and I was..." I am cut off by the rich laughter that answers back.
"Don't worry I saw the whole spectacle. Trying to show off your ballerina skills?"
"I wasn't a ballerina and you know it, I was a gymnast. Damn, I feel like I haven't seen you in months." I say before I launch myself at Brad. I miss him, not in the bedroom department way but in the brotherly-we-grew-up-together way.
"How's school?" He asks as he barely stretches to reach the Almond Honey Bunches of Oats box.
"Everything's fine happy it's almost spring break."
"I know right? We should go to Miami or San Diego or somewhere with a nice hot beach."
My eyes widen from excitement and if it weren't because I have the basket in my hands I'd be clapping and cheering like a kid at a toy store. "Yes, yes, yes! We totally should! I need to breath a different air. I'll tell the girls."
"Great, I'll tell my brothers."
Brad says.We continue updating each other about what we've done these last two weeks. He tells me to stop by his house soon and I agree. He helps me load my car with the grocery bags before we hug and kiss goodbye. Knowing I didn't buy anything that could get ruined if I leave it in the trunk for a long while, I opt for a nice ride around town with music blasting from my speakers. The White Stipe's song Seven Nation Army is currently playing and thank God there is barely any traffic. I am able to swerve around without looking as If I am being chased and hunted down. I get lost with the feeling of the wind crashing upon my face, moving my hair in all directions, relaxing me so fully any sign of my headache completely gone.
