Chapter III

"I can't believe they shipped your Eternity Cage without the key," The sound of Benny's voice flooded the halls and bounced against the metal lockers, finding its way into your eardrums as you were a couple feet from them. "How are we gonna play Warlocks Phantasm?" Benny released in a soft whine, making you chuckle under your breath from a distant.

"Benny, keep it down. I'm trying to attract a girl, not the whole Chess Club," Ethan spoke next, in a whispered tone.

You closed your locker and slung your bag across your shoulder, making your way over towards your best friends. Ethan noticed your presence as he stood before Benny. Benny's back was facing you as you came closer to them.

"Hey, guys," You offered a soft smile as you stood next to Benny, the top of your head at the height of his shoulder. He looked down at you with a soft smile.

"Hey, Y/N," Ethan smiled nervously.

"You okay?" You furrowed your brow, noticing his anxieties were on a high.

"He's planning to ask out Sarah today," Benny leaned down to whisper into your ear. You chuckled lightly and patted Ethan's shoulder.

"You'll be fine, E. Don't stress too much, what's the worst that could happen? She says no?" You raised a brow in his direction, attempting to make him feel better.

Letting out a nervous breath, Ethan nodded slowly and pulled out a small glass bottle from his bag.

"What's that?" Benny asked, gesturing to the small bottle.

"Harmonia. It's musk," Ethan smiled and sprayed his shirt with it. "It's supposed to tap into a woman's primal nature," He added.

The aroma slithered up your nose, making you sneeze into the inside of your arm. Benny cocked a brow and watched you with a soft smirk, "It's definitely manly." He turned to look at Ethan, "Like wrestling team laundry bag manly."

Benny had taken the small glass bottle from Ethan and examined the labeling upon the bottle.

"I'm just worried she'll laugh in my face," Ethan whined, unable to bring himself to find Sarah and ask her on a date.

"She probably will," Benny released a soft sigh out of pity. You rolled your eyes and slapped his forearm in a playful manner, but hard enough to hurt.

"Don't listen to him, E. It'll be fine, just go with your gut," You spoke with comfort and ease as Ethan nodded his head slowly.

He turned on his heels and walked in the opposite direction, leaving you and Benny against the lockers alone.
