Yong-Hoo

Park Yong-Hoo took two steps at a time and ran up to the church doors. Hastily he opened them and stepped inside the church, where Father Choi, who had previously called him, was waiting. Behind him was a girl, sitting on one of the empty benches.

"You mind explain this? She said she saw you exorcise someone. What happened? And since when are your Stigmata back?" The priest was whispering so that only his companion could hear him.

Yong-Hoo shoved his hands inside the pockets of his jeans. "I went to that place yesterday but got attacked by a demon. I was able to exorcise him but the Stigmata disappeared afterwards." He gritted his teeth.

He looked at him exasperated. "And you just left her like that?"

"She doesn't know anything and I told her to just forget about it."

Father Choi sighed in frustration. "Well, it seems she does not want to forget about it."

They both turned towards the girl, who was busy blowing a big, pink bubble of gum. He studied her face but realized he didn't really remember what the girl in the alley had looked like.

"And now what?" Yong-Hoo's voice sounded lame, even in his own ears.

"I don't know. She wants to talk to you. And maybe you should thank her for saving you from ending up like me, or worse."

"I had it completely under control", he muttered, but the priest had already stepped aside. Reluctantly he took some steps forward. He sat down on the next empty bench and turned towards her.

"You should not have come", he sighed. "First you follow me around town and now this."

"Wow. I thought it was because you got beaten up, but I see you simply are a grinch."

He stared her down coldly but she held his gaze unaffectedly, popping another bubble. "What do you want?"

"Explain to me what happened yesterday."

He hesitated for a moment, thinking if he should really tell her. Wasn't it his job to protect the innocent from the dark and evil? On the other hand, she had already gotten a glimpse of it and maybe his explanation would help her process what had happened.

"Will you leave then?"

His opponent just smiled as an answer.

He sighed again and gave her an easy version of last night's events: The man had been possessed and he had managed to exorcise him.

The girl nodded quietly but overall didn't look too impressed. "I see."

"That's the point where people usually freak out, you know."

She shrugged. "Did you think I was posessed too?"

He nodded yes. "You were following me."

"So what, I could have just wanted your number."

Yong-Hoo blinked in confusion.

"Then, are you paranoid or are you being followed?"

He stood up and gestured her to do too. "You got your explanation, now leave, would you."

"Or what, are you going to light my head on fire?"

Yong-Hoo snapped and grabbed her, pushing her towards the doors.

"You can't kick me out of a freaking church!" She snorted, but when he didn't let go of his grip she stopped and resisted. "I'm just trying to help..." - he kept pushing- "Park Yong-Hoo!"

Now two people were calling his name, the girl and Father Choi, who came running towards them.

Roughly Yong-Hoo turned the girl around. "How do you know my name? What do you want? Are you a fan, a stalker?"

Father Choi took his hands, gently but firmly, making him lose his grip on the girl's arms.

"For fucks sake, listen to me!" Her voice echoed in the cold church. "Someone offered me a deal in return for your life."

Instantly his heart sank to his knees. "What?"
