Soo-Jin is facing a problem that could change her life. But not just hers. Not knowing that her decision is a maneuver in the war between heaven and hell, good and evil, she has to find out if Yong-Hoo's life is worth saving or if she should give in...
Soo-Jin let herself fall to her knees. She was exhausted, her body and soul were tired of fighting. She did not let a sound past her lips while she was sobbing and finally letting loose the tears that she had held back for so long. She had tried, she really had. But there was no hope for her. She put together her hands to pray, to whatever god it may be to spare her life, or at least give her something to hold on to, some hope.
She did not know for how long she had remained in this position, when she felt a presence close to her. When she opened her eyes, she found a young man standing in the middle of her living room, glaring down on her. He kneeled down to face her and she intuitively backed off. How did he get in here? She noticed the red gleaming of his pupils and furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. This can't be, she must be dreaming.
"I have heard your prayers."
His voice was dark and melodical and suited his entrancing gaze.
"Who are you?" Was all Soo-Jin was able to get out.
His full, well formed lips were slightly parted and formed into a small grin. "Humans call me different things. I have come to save you, Min Soo-Jin."
Her heart fluttered at his words. Save her? Could he really? As if he was able to read her thoughts, he reassuringly took her hands into his. His touch was warm, gentle and sent chills down her spine. Visions, pictures of her, healthy and happily living her life, flashed before her eyes. She was still caught up in them when she heard his voice next to her ear.
"Aren't you tired of all the pain, the suffering, God's injustice? I can make it all go away", he whispered. "Just let it all go and give into me. Let me take control."
She shifted uncomfortably under him, something about this did not feel right. "Why?"
"It all comes with a price, Soo-Jin. But I promise you won't feel a thing. And you will be healed and live a long life..."
She gulped her doubts down. "What do you want me to do?"
He chuckled and she could feel his warm breath on her neck.
"It's simple: A life for a life."
