"There was this man who told me your name and said you had to die. I was at the hospital when your name was called and I went after you to check that I was not going completely crazy."
"The deal, did you take it?"
"No, you moron. Whould I have helped you then? I could have just turned around and let you get beaten to mush." She massaged her arms, which had most definitely bruised. She wasn't sure if it was just the flickering candle lights or if she could see guilt flash across his face.
"So you declined the deal?" Father Choi looked at her in disbelief. "I have never heard anyone do that." He turned towards Yong-Hoo. "I don't think they will let her get away with that."
"Wait, are you telling me this guy was a demon too?"
"Most probably" answered the priest, "which means you should be very careful. Here-", he took a black rosemary from his pocket and handed it to her, "to be safe, make sure to wear this at all times. If you encounter him again or start seeing or hearing strange things, contact us right away."
Slowly she took the rosemary, which was surprisingly heavy, and let it's warm pearls slide through her fingers. She didn't know what to think about this or how to feel. "Uhm, okay."
"The demon", Yong-Hoo spoke again, "what did he look like? Do you know his name?"
Soo-Jin wrapped the rosemary around her wrist, taking the time to think about her answer.
"I don't know his name but I saw his face. I can tell you what he looked like..." This was her chance and she had to take it. "... under one condition."
"Which is?"
"Let me come along with you."
Yong-Hoo shook his head. "You must be crazy." He looked at her daringly but she did not back out. She just had to make sure she had made the right decision in letting Park Yong-Hoo live.
The two men looked at each other and for a second the thought that they might be communicating telepathically crossed her mind. But that was ridiculous, right?
"Fine. Once."
