I had a feeling nothing is really happening in this story, so we're starting with action!

"Crescent high above, evolving as you go!" A blue haired girl yelled as the floor started shaking. A blonde woman with abnormally long hair was standing opposite her.

"Cass, don't do this! Please, I know you care for us! Let them go and we'll talk t-this-"

The princess was interrupted by a rock appearing underneath her and it shooted upwards. Rapunzel let out a scream as the rock met with the ceiling.

"Rapunzel, no!" Her boyfriend, who was trapped in a sort of cage made of the black rocks, yelled. Cassandra waited with her eye brows raised for any reaction. And it came. A blast of gold appeared from the ceiling where the Sundrop just got crushed. The top of the rock was blasted off and there stood the princess again. She jumped to the ground and landed neatly on her bare feet.

"Cassandra, please. I'm sorry if I was a bad friend to you b-but let's make a fresh start!" Rapunzel exclaimed to her former best friend. Cassandra's gaze only hardened as she pinned the princess against the wall with her black rocks and walked over to her.

"Listen, Rapunzel. Believe me, I do not want to hurt any of you, but I will if i have to. So, please go back to Corona and leave me alone," she explained calmly to Rapunzel.

How did it get so far? Where did it go wrong? The princess thought as she stared in Cassandra's eyes. She couldn't imagine her life without her best friend.

"I-I won't leave without you, Cass," the Sundrop said, finding it hard to talk because of the smack against the wall. The moondrop sighed, closed her eyes and pinched the bridges of her nose. Then she took a deep breath and opened her eyes again.

"Then I guess you're not leaving," she said, a smirk plastered on her lips. Cassandra waved her hand and all the entrances closed, except the one downstairs and the one leading to the stairwell. Meanwhile Rapunzel tried freeing herself, but her energy seemed drained from her body.

"I'm giving you one last chance to change your mind, Raps."

The princess was a little taken aback by the use of her nickname, but pushed it aside. If she wanted her best friend back, she wasn't going to give up so easily.

"Never."

Cass smiled sheepishly at her. "Well, don't get mad at me if you or any of your friends get hurt."

With another wave of her hand the rocks that held the princess shrunk back into the ground. Rapunzel her knees almost gave out when her feet touched the ground, but she managed to stay standing.

"Cass, please. It's not too late to stop fighting and talk this out!" The princess said. Cass only chuckled.

"If you think that this is fighting, then you haven't seen a real fight yet," she said darkly.

Rapunzel looked her in the eyes and grabbed a chunk of her hair. "Fine," she breathed deep in and out and started the incantation Varian had found on the scroll. "Power of the sun, gift me with your light."

"Crescent high above, evolving as you go!"

Varian lay restless in his infirmary bed. He had a weird feeling things weren't going to go as good as the princess said they would. The alchemist sat there, until he couldn't take it anymore. He swung his legs out of the bed and ran as fast as he could. He ran to the stables, jumped on a horse and took off.

Cass had teached Varian how to ride a horse. He blinked a few tears away as the memories flooded through his mind. Varian only now realised how much he had missed her. The twinkle in her eyes when she laughed at one of his stupid jokes, how gracefully she moved when she practiced sword fighting.

The alchemist was so occupied in thoughts that he didn't notice a branch sticking out. It hit is head and made an ugly cut on his cheeck.

"Ow!"

Blood gushed out of the wound. He pulled a handkerchief out of his pocket and pressed it against the cut.

Varian looked at the sky and noticed that the sun was already setting. He forced his horse to go faster and saw the tower appearing in the distance. It looked kinda intimidating. He reached the open and dismounted. As soon as his feet touched the ground, a blast of blue and gold came from the holes in the walls at the top of the tower. Then he heard a frustrated scream that echoed over the trees.

Before he properly realised what he was doing, his legs had carried him inside the tower and up the stairs. To his surprise he still knew his way around. The floor shook and he had to grab the railing or else he'd fall.

When he heard another scream, the alchemist's eyes filled with panic. He recognised Cassie's voice. And this time it was filled with pain.

Varian ran upstairs and burst into the room. It took him a moment to take the whole scene in. On the right lay Cassandra, obviously in pain. He noticed that her moonstone looked somewhat less- shiny. On the left stood, no floated Rapunzel, her eyes completely golden. At the back were Eugene, Lance, Kiera and Catalina, each in a cage made of the black rocks. No one had noticed him entering.

The blue haired girl scrambled back on her feet, facing the princess.

"Let them go, Cassandra," Rapunzel demanded. Cass shook her head, her eyes held a wicked expression.

"I don't follow your orders anymore!" She yelled back and summoned a wave of black rocks, sending them towards the princess. She only held her hand up and the wave exploded. A big explosion. Parts of the walls were blasted off, allowing the last streams of sunlight to light the dark building up. A cloud of dust blocked the view so no one could see a thing.

Varian then heard a yell. It belonged to one of his best friends. He ran through the smoke towards the sound.

"Eugene!"

"Varian?" Eugene yelled back. "What are you-" he started but was cut off by a blast of gold, that made Varian fall on his knees.  The alchemist felt someone grabbing his hand. He turned his head and saw a coughing Eugene.

"Stay close, kid," he told the raven boy as he shielded him from the smoke. The Sundrop and moondrop were still fighting, according to the black rocks sprouting from the ground.

"Let my hope ignite!" Echoed through the room and a last wave of power followed. Varian closed his eyes as he heard a familiar scream that sended shivers down his spine. The scream slowly faded away along with the dust.

"Is everyone alright?" Eugene called through the room. Everyone mumbled a "yes". The alchemist finally opened his eyes. He looked around and saw... total chaos. That was the best way to describe it. Pieces of black rocks were scattered across the room, Rapunzel stood in the centre, Cassandra nowhere in sight. Varian stumbled back on his feet and walked over to the princess

"W-where's Cassie?" He asked her. Rapunzel only shrugged. She looked exhausted. Eugene joined the duo and grabbed his girlfriend's hand.

"Blondie, I know this is an emotional moment for you, but that was awesome!" He exclaimed. Rapunzel managed a small smile.

"Can w-we please go home?" She asked. Her boyfriend nodded and putted an arm around her.
