"Just get ya army ready and kick her butt outta this place!"
Varian and Rapunzel shot a deadly look at the man who said that. The princess wanted to say something, but was interrupted by more people agreeing with the man.
"And this is why I said we shouldn't let everyone have a say in this", a particularly grumpy Varian said.
"Nonsense. Just wait, I'll sort this out," Rapunzel said. The alchemist rolled his eyes.
The princess stood up, "Everyone! Please, let's use our common sense. We won't solve anything by just screaming at each other. These are hard times for everyone, including Cassandra. Now before you start yelling again, just think about how she is feeling right now. Some of you knew her before all of this happened. She always did her best for everything, but was rarely appreciated for it. I am guilty of that, too. Imagine how frustrating it must've been for her to not being able to achieve your dreams."
The pub was silent, no one dared to speak.
"So what we should do now is trying to talk to her and make her calm down. As proven already, fighting didn't solve anything," the princess said, "I want no one to feel left out, so everyone gets to share their opinion. But please, we are all humans, so we should treat everyone like one."
"How on Earth did that work?" Varian whispered to Lance, but he didn't respond.
Rapunzel smiled when she saw that her words had done something, "Remember to get some rest!" She said to everyone before sitting down again next to Varian and Lance.
She groaned and buried her face in her hands. The alchemist shot a worried look at the princess. He didn't know how long the potion Cassandra had used would last, or how long Rapunzel would show symptoms.
"Princess, are you all right?" He asked.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine," She sighed, "but
I can't stop thinking about Eugene. What if he is in pain right now?"
Varian bit his lower lip. He was thinking the exact same. Something deep inside him was screaming that it was all his fault.
"I don't know either, Rapunzel", he sighed and looked at a couple who were peacefully sleeping in each other's arms.

The woman poked her head through the door to check on Eugene. She saw he was awake, sitting on the couch and looking outside. He looked like he was in deep thoughts.
The woman knocked, bringing the captain back to reality, and entered with a plate balancing on her hand. She carefully placed it down on a small table in front of him.
Cassandra sat down across him.
"Eat. You'll feel better", she said and eyed him when he carefully grabbed a toast.
She chuckled, "I didn't poison it."
He started eating and silence formed between them for a few minutes. It wasn't uncomfortable, but there definitely was some tension in the air.
"How are you feeling?" She asked him after a while.
He nodded, "I'm fine."
She opened her mouth to say something, but was interrupted by a loud crash coming from the floor above them.
The two looked at each other with wide eyes.
