Cassandra couldn't see a thing. There was smoke everywhere. She just sended black rocks haphazardly, hoping they would find the target.

"Let my hope ignite!" Rang a voice through the room, followed by a wave of power. The moondrop wanted to defend herself against it, but found herself stumbling backwards, coughing.  She continued her way backwards when suddenly, there was no ground underneath her feet anymore.

Cassandra slipped and fell. Fell into nothingness. She heard a scream ringing in her ears, but when her throat started to go dry she realised it was hers. Cass blocked her fall by making a black rock growing out of the tower for her to land on. Her leg made a sickening crack and her head hit the rock hard. After a while she tried sitting up, but her surroundings became dizzy and suddenly everything went black.

The afternoon sun was burning high in the sky. Cassandra opened her eyes and felt like she just had been stabbed over her entire body. The woman groaned and tried to sit up, but as soon as she lifted her head, an unbearable pain filled it.

Cass gasped in pain and carefully laid down again. She touched her head and noticed tried blood on her forehead. As she recalled the events of the day before, anger started boiling inside of her. But her headache returned, so she tried to calm down. After a while, Cass slowly tried to sit up again, and gasped when she saw her left leg. It was pleated in a way legs shouldn't be pleated.

First my good arm, now my good leg? She thought and sighed, knowing what she had to do. Her 'father', who she now doesn't see as her father anymore, had teached her how to fix a broken limb. Cass carefully grabbed her leg and- crack. The blue haired girl let out a small yell in surprise and pain. But her leg was now back to normal again.

Cass slowly stood up, using the wall for support. Her leg still hurted, but it was bearable. She lowered the black rock she was standing on to the ground and stumbled to a tree trunk. The woman slowly sat down on the grass and leaned against the trunk.

She sat there for, god knows how long. The sun was already setting. Cass was slowly drifting off into a sleep, when she heard footsteps. Jerking her eyes back open, she looked around. She wanted to stand up, but her leg wouldn't allow it. The woman pierced into the woods and could make out a silhouette. She wanted to back away, but found herself already pressed against a tree. At that moment Cassandra regretted the colour of her hair, because it stood out like an elefant  in a group of mice.

"C-cassie? Is that you?"

Cassandra let out a shaky breath of relieve as she recognised the voice. "Varian?" She called out. Her voice was barely a whisper, and she noticed that her throat felt like it was burning.

The silhouette stepped into the faint sunlight and gasped when he saw the state of the figure that lay on the ground.

"Cassie, what happened to you?" He asked, clearly concerned and surprise. Cassandra herself was also surprised to see him here.

"What are you doing here?" The woman asked, ignoring his question.

"I-I was worried when you fell out of your tower, so I came looking for you," he explained as he knelt down in front of her. He got slight flashbacks to the night he got kidnapped, but pushed them aside. "But enough about me, are you alright?"

"I'm f-fine," Cass answered. Her heart, for some reason, was starting to beat faster.

"Clearly, you're not, otherwise you wouldn't be here on the floor," the alchemist said, then looked at her forehead. "C-can I take a look?"

She nodded and turned her head so he could look. "I thought you fainted whenever you saw blood?" She asked.

"Dried blood isn't a problem," Varian answered. Then he grabbed a veil of a creamy coloured liquid and opened it.

"What's that?"

"You hit your head quite hard, Cassie, this could help," the raven boy explained. "C-can I?"

She nodded again as a sign he could use it. He poured it over the wound and it healed immediately. Cass let out a sigh of relief and closed her eyes. Varian putted the empty veil away and sat down in front of her. She opened her eyes again.

"Thanks... and sorry," the last part came out as a whisper, but he had heard it.

"For what?" Varian asked confused.

"For what? I kidnapped you, I-I held you here against your will, I-" she said, counting it on her fingers.

"It's okay, really," he interrupted and grabbed her hand. Cass wanted to answer but found herself unable to speak as she stared at their hands. Her cheeks turned red. The blue haired girl looked up to meet the alchemist's gaze and noticed a cut on his cheeck. She reached out her other hand and touched it softly.

"How did this happen?" She asked him.

"Oh, I just w-wasn't really looking w-where I was going and well, you get it," he stammered, also going red at her touch. For a moment the pair just stared into each others eyes, and without realising it they both were learning forward.

Their lips touched, but it happened so quick it was almost friendly.

"I-I am sorry, I-" the boy began, but was interrupted by soft lips being pressed, firmly now, against his. Varian was too shocked to kiss back.

"Don't apologise", she said and kissed him again. Now he did find the courage to return it. He felt butterflies exploding in his stomach, and he was pretty sure his face could be compared to a tomato.

They pulled apart to breath. She laughed when she saw his face. Hearing her laugh made him crack a smile.

She leaned back against the tree and sighed, "Well, I don't know about you, but I am tired."

He chuckled and laid down next to her.

"Me too."
