Sorry for the long wait!

Cassandra woke up by the sound of soft snoring. She opened her eyes, confused as she felt another figure curled up against her. The memories of the night before came flooding into the woman's mind when she recognised the person. It instantly made her smile. Cass stared at the alchemist for a few moments, thinking and enjoying the morning sun on her skin. What did last night mean to her? Why did she do it?

She looked at the boy's face and slowly, realisation hit her. Do I like him? I mean, I always thought he was a nice kid, even though he almost crushed me, but I don't think that way about him... do I? Cassandra asked herself. Then why did I kiss him?

She didn't have more time to think about it, because Varian stirred and yawned. He opened his eyes and blinked them a few times.

"Good morning, sleepy head," she said to him. The boy turned his head to face her and smiled. Cassandra thought it was the cutest smile she had ever seen.

"Morning," he mumbled, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. Cass gently pushed him away and stood up. Her leg was still a bit sour, but fine other then that. She looked around, everything was still the same. Her tower to their right, a forest to the left. Except that the tower was half destroyed, but she could fix that.

The woman turned around and held out her hand, waiting for the boy to take it. He did, and she pulled him up. Cass looked at him and chuckled.

"Come, let's get you back to Corona" she said. .

"Oh, y-yeah, ofcourse," the alchemist mumbled and followed her as they made their way towards the tower. When the pair entered, Varian cleared his throat to defuse the awkward tension that was hanging in the air between them.

"So uhh, the weather's nice today, no?" The boy spoke. That made Cassandra snort.

"You're really not good at this whole flirting thing," she stated.

"Hey! I-I wasn't flirting!" He sputtered as they turned left and started climbing the stairs.

"Uhu," the woman replied, not convinced. Varian wanted to say something else, but Cass grabbed his arm and pulled him towards her. The alchemist was confused but then saw a hole in the stairs where he would've stepped if Cassandra hadn't saved him. She let go of his arm, waved her hand and the hole closed.

"That was close," she breathed. "We should watch out."

Varian looked down and saw he would've made a nasty fall.

"T-thanks," he said, a little shaky. She shook her head.

"You alright?" Cass asked him, putting a hand on his shoulder. He nodded and they continued their way up. The couple arrived upstairs and Cass's mouth fell open. Parts of black rocks scrambled everywhere over the floor, holes in the walls. Memories of the fight came back into her mind.

The woman walked around the room, closing the holes in the floor. Varian, who was still at the top of the stairs, watched her. He noticed her fists were clenched and her eyes held a rage he hadn't seen before. Caring for his life, the alchemist stayed were he was.

A couple of minutes passed, and Cass finally spoke. She stood a few metres from him.

"Do they know you're here?" She asked him, her back facing the boy. Her tone wasn't friendly anymore.

"N-no," he spoke. The blue haired woman whirled around. "But don't worry, t-they think I'm in my lab."

Cassandra raised her eyebrow.
