"I already can see Corona in the distance!" The young alchemist squealed with excitement while pointing ahead.
The blue haired woman chuckled at him. Although he was 17, he still had that childish aura around him. She liked that, because it also was needed. Cass would've been completely blinded by anger and lost her mind if it wasn't for him.
As for her little conversation with Zhan Tiri this morning, Cassandra didn't buy it. The demon had manipulated her, making her do things she didn't want to do, like kidnapping the lively boy that was walking in front of her. And knowing the princess of Corona, she is probably too kind to give permission for a weapon that is designed to destroy a former best friend.
As the pair continued walking, the woman remembered a conversation she had with Xavier, the blacksmith of Corona, while he was fixing her sword. It was the day before she and the gang left to follow the black rocks. The old man was telling her a legend.
"And rumour says that Lord Demanitus trapped the ancient demon in a prison. A prison, they say, that she only can escape through the clash of the moon and sun," he finished his legend.
Cassandra hadn't though much of it back then, but now she couldn't help but wonder if her and Rapunzel accidentally had freed her. That would explain why she now didn't look like a ghost anymore. Cass was pulled out of her thoughts as Varian started talking.
"Cassie? Is something bothering you?" He asked as he slowed down a little to walk next to her.
"Huh? No, just a bit nervous," she answered. The alchemist smiled and interwined their fingers.
"Everything'll be alright. She'll forgive you."
"Forgive?" Cassandra asked, almost looking offended. "I've never said that I wanted to be forgiven. I just need her help for something. And why forgive me if I haven't forgiven her?"
Varian winced at her tone and let her hand go. The moment Cass snapped at him, she regretted it. It stayed silent between them for a few minutes. She missed the warmth of his hand, so she took it and gave it a squeeze.
"I'm sorry."
"It's alright, Cassie. I get it," he said, glad she apologised.
"Really? Because I understand if you're mad-"
"Really," he reassured her and stood on his tip toes to give her a kiss on her cheeck. The woman chuckled.
"You're too cute. But I think you should put the cloak on, we're almost there," she said and handed him the cloak.
"What about you?"
"Oh, I have a normal one, I'll stay in the shadows," Cassandra explained. He nodded, and pulled the shape shifting cloth over his head. The young boy changed into an older one with short blonde hair with grey eyes.
"I think I like Varian better, but alright," the blue haired woman shrugged. They walked for a bit and stopped a few metres from the gates.
"Okay, so you have to go in first, I'll follow a few minutes later. Then we meet up at your lab in Old Corona. You'll change and then we sneak into the castle... alright?"
The alchemist gave her a thumbs up as a sign he understood, turned around and entered the kingdom of Corona. They had talked about their plan why they were walking. Everything went as planned; he walked to his lab, and once he was inside, the boy threw off the cloak and checked if everything was how he left it. It was.
Not much later, Varian heard the door upstairs open and close, and footsteps coming down the stairs. A hooded figure entered his room.
"Weren't the guards supposed to check every person that enters the kingdom?" Cassandra asked while throwing her cloak on his bed. The boy shrugged.
"You have one job..." the blue haired woman chuckled.

Meanwhile at the guards tower in Corona:
A knock on the door disturbed the new Captian while he was working. Since Cassandra's betrayal and him getting the position of Captain Of The Guards, he had been over working himself.
He sighed and said that who ever was knocking to come in. When Eugene looked up he saw, to his surprise, Stan and Pete."Captain, we noticed two mysterious persons entering the kingdom," Stan spoke.
"Yes, the first one was a boy we've never seen before, and a few minutes after a hooded figure entered, we could not see the face," Pete said.
Eugene had asked the guards to keep an eye on who left and entered Corona. He gave them a satisfied smile.
"Good, where did they go to?"
"Damnit, I knew we forgot something..." Stan mumbled. Unfortunately, the captain had heard and his smile immediately left his face. He sighed and pinched the bridges of his nose.
"Wait! I think I saw the boy going into the direction of Old Corona," Pete said. That confused the former thief, but soon his expression changed to worry. One of those persons could easily be Cassandra!
"Varian said he was staying there this week, and there are also less guards there, so it's the perfect place for Cassandra to take him again. I don't know why she would tho, maybe because he has important stuff," the captain rambled. "Oh no, what if she just wants revenge on Varian and hurts him?"
"Okay, this is the plan. We, and I mean us and most of the other guards, are going to Old Corona. I'll enter his lab to see if he's okay, you all wait outside. When I don't return or there are signs of violence, enter too," he ordered Stan and Pete. The pair nodded and left his office to inform their colleagues.
Eugene sank back into his chair and rested his head in his hands.
"Just be okay, Goggles..."

Okay, so this is more a filler and is a bit shorter then usual. Sorry for that. I have school and stuff so I don't really have much time to write. And I also don't really know myself where I want this story to go. I mean, I have an idea how I want it to end but I don't know how to get there... I'll find something LOL
