Maddie's POV
*A Week Later*
I woke up at 6:30 in the morning, which was pretty early for a June day. I got the pregnancy test Jack bought me last night and went to the bathroom. I knew you were supposed to use your first morning pee for a pregnancy test. I peed on the stick and put it on some toilet paper. I put my timer on 5 minutes and walked out of the bathroom. Mom came into my room right after the timer went off. I went into the bathroom and looked at the pregnancy test. I screamed at the top of my lungs and mom ran in. She said "Maddie? Honey, what's wrong?" I said "You're gonna be a grandma." My mom hugged me and said "How do you feel about this?" I shrugged and said "I don't know. I'm scared." Mom said "It's okay to be scared about this baby. It's normal." I said "It is?" Mom nodded and said "You know I got pregnant with Jack as a teenager and I was terrified." I said "Why are you telling me this?" Mom said "Because no matter how old a girl is, she's always scared about having her first child." I said "What if I'm not a good mother?" Mom looked at me lovingly and said "You will be a great mom." She kissed my head and walked out of the room. I grabbed my phone and opened up my messages. I decided to text Jc. I had snuck in Jack's room during the night and put his number in my phone.
(M for Maddie, J for Jc)
M: Hey, Jc. It's Maddie. I got your number from Jack's phone. We need to talk...
J: It's 7 in the morning. What could you possibly want?
M: Jc, you're gonna be a dad...
J: What?
M: I'm pregnant because YOU raped me...
J: Look, I'm sorry about that. You didn't deserve that. But I can't be a father to this kid. I have my girlfriend to worry about.
M: Are you fucking kidding me? You're gonna make me raise OUR baby on my own..you're a low life..
J: Whatever. You're an attention whore. Have a nice life with that mistake.
I didn't reply to the text. Jack came into my room because mom was making breakfast. He saw me crying and asked "What's wrong sis?" I showed him the messages from Jc and he punched my wall again. Jack said "I'm gonna kill him. He needs to step up." I said "Jack, don't hurt him too much. This baby needs its dad alive." He calmed down and said "Fine." We went down to breakfast. Mom said "How are you feeling Maddie?" I sighed and said "I'll be fine mama.."
