I slept a really, really long time. When I woke up, it was 3 pm the next day. My jaw really hurt. I walked into the kitchen where my dad was and freeze when I see him.

'Here's an ice pack, sleepy head,' he said, throwing me one. I catch it and put it on my jaw, it quickly soothing my jaw. 'This will be easy since you can't really talk. It's only a bruise by the way. Nat hit you pretty hard. I trusted you, Maya. And you went against me for something you believe in, or for someone you believe in. Ross doesn't believe T'challa, but who is he to question the king of Wakanda? I need to do something with you. We're moving permanently up here, after we fix the hole in the floor, thanks to Wanda. So, while I'm off doing business and hopefully fixing things with Pepper somehow, and Happy is trying to move and watch the other kid, Peter Parker. You are going to be in school.'

'School?' I exclaim, wincing in pain.

'Yes,' dad said. 'It's Parker's school actually. He's going to be keeping you in check.'

'Parker's whose ass I kicked?' I ask, not caring about the pain.

'Well, yes,' dad said with a slight smirk. 'There's no debate on this, Maya. You'll be going as soon as you can talk without wincing.' I nod, defeated. My dad stands up and goes to walk out. He stops right before leaving. 'I'm proud of you, Maya. You fought well.' And he left. A small smile played on my lips as I watched him walk away. He was proud of me.

A couple days later, my jaw was feeling better, and I walked into my room. I froze when I saw the box on my bed. I looked around and closed my door, walking up to it. My first thought was Steve. I just came from being grilled by Ross about where they were. Steve had broken them out of jail, and it took all my strength to not smile while Ross was talking. On the top was, "To Maya, if you ever need someone to talk to". I opened the box to find a flip phone and a letter. I opened the letter.

    Maya,

Thank you. For everything. I'm glad you're not in trouble and that you can keep living your life. I shouldn't have gotten you to fight, but I have to admit, you were very valuable. I hope Tony isn't giving you too hard of a time. By now, you know I've broken them out of jail. I hate that we have to go on the run, but there is nothing I can do. This is a just in case. You can't call a lot, but every once in a while, we all would be glad to hear from you. Wanda already said she missed you before we departed from each other. I can't say where we are, but we're going to be okay. Don't worry, Maya. Everything will work out eventually.

I smile and hide everything. I start school soon. A lot of things are going to change and I'm going to have to deal with it. Maybe change is a good thing. Hopefully, everything will work out.
