'Hey! Teenagers!' Fury called, finally getting me and Peter's attention. Both of us were staring into space very much distracted. We didn't want to be here. 'That things going to be here in a few hours. Are we boring you two?'

'They aren't bored, they're just thinking about how you kidnapped him,' Beck said making me grit my teeth.

'They had obstacles,' Fury said. 'I removed them.'

'They still won't evacuate the city,' said Hill.

Fury groans. 'Idiots. So, what's the plan, Parker.'

'Maya and I will be in the cathedral tower keeping watch for the fire monster. When that shows up, we will radio you guys, and then Mr. Beck, Maya and I will—'

'My name is Mysterio,' Beck said shooting Peter a playful look. Peter breaths out a laugh and I smile a little.

'That's when Mysterio, Maya, and I will move in,' Peter said.

'Guys listen to me,' Beck said. 'The best hope you have—the only hope—is to stop it here and now, no matter what the cost. Keep it away from civilians if you can, but, most important, keep it away from metal. If it gets too big, it'll be able to draw power from the Earth's core. After that, there's no way to stop it.'

Peter and I share a scared glance and then I glance at Fury. This was bullshit and he was buying it.

'Hey, man, our friends are here,' Peter said. 'And I can't help but think we're putting them in danger—'

Fury stands up and walks over to Peter.

'You're worried about us hurting your friends? You? Who called a drone strike on your own school tour bus? Stark gave you a multi-billion-dollar AR tactical intelligence system and the first thing you do with it? Is try to blow up your friends and Stark's daughter. It's clear to me that you were not ready for this!'

I move quickly, stepping in front of Peter, glaring at Fury.

'No,' I said, my voice low. 'You do not get to say anything like that to him! We told you we were not ready. The words literally came out of his mouth. My dad gave him those glasses because he trusted him. And I trust him to. You don't get to make us come here and then yell at him when he proves his own point!'

I feel Peter move and when I turn to look at him, he was walking out. My jaw clenches as I look back to Fury.

'I've always liked you Fury,' I said. 'Sincerely. But when you hurt him, it makes me want to kind of punch you in the face.'

'Okay,' Beck jumped in. 'I'll go make sure Peter's okay. You wrap things up here.'

I nod to him. I don't want him to go talk to Peter. To get Peter into his trap. But there was no use.

'Look, Stark, I'm sorry if I stepped on any toes, but—'

'No,' I said. 'No, buts. Parker's the most trusting person that I know. I am not. And neither are you.'

'What?' Fury said.

'You seem to trust Beck a lot for barely knowing him. What? He just said he's from a different world and you believe him? Look, I have nothing against him. He seems like a standup guy, I guess. Just, something about these Elementals isn't sitting right with me. I do trust you though. So, if you're sure?' My stomach flipped and I hold my breath. It was a first act of defiance.

'I'm sure,' Fury said.

I nod, slightly disappointed. 'Okay. Look, Fury, you need to help out with my classmates. I have friends there to and I need them to be safe. So, pull your many strings and figure out how to keep them away. Because you want us there, you're going to make sure everyone that got dragged with us is safe. It'll be your fault if they die. I'll be sure to remember that.'

'I'll see what I can do,' Fury said. 'But I think EDITH may be the most helpful. I can't do much this last minute. It's not totally my problem.'

I hate it but nod. I'll figure something out. I turn to go find Peter. 'Oh, and Fury?' I turn to look at him and he raised his eyebrows at me. 'Ever say anything like that again, especially to Parker, I won't hesitate to blast you into a wall.'

'I don't doubt it, Stark,' Fury said. 'But I also don't do threats.'

'It's not a threat,' I said, shrugging. 'It's a promise.'

I walk out before he can say anything and search the roofs for Peter and Beck. I get to a nice building and see them talking.

'Parker!' I call up.

He looks down, nods, says something to Beck, and jumps down. Beck gives me a subtle nod and I ignore him.

'Are you okay?' I ask Peter.

'Are you?' Peter fires back.

I nod. 'Yeah. Can you use EDITH and see if she can find anything for everyone else? Fury said he couldn't do anything. It's up to us.'

'Let's see.' He puts the glasses on. 'Okay, uh, EDITH?'

'Hello, Peter.'

'Hey! Uh... I need to find a way to keep my friends inside for the next few hours.'

'Let's see what we can do,' EDITH said.
