'You have to go to the party,' Parker begs, as we walk out of the school.

I cross my arms. 'Parker, I am trying to repair my relationship with my dad. I haven't used my suit since everything, much less my powers. Besides, I can't go out.'

    'Please, Maya,' Parker begged.

'You shouldn't even go,' I say, stopping walking and looking at him. 'Spiderman is not a party trick. Shadow has been gone since the whole mess. She can't just show up at a high-school party.'

'Maya, I would owe you so much,' he said, pleadingly. 'Come on. After this, you never have to speak to my again. Just...please.'

I look at him and run my hand through my hair. 'I'll need a ride.'

'I can do that,' said Parker, hopeful. 'So...will you go?'

I start walking again, silently cursing myself. 'Fine.'

He pumps a fist in the air, and I suppress a smile. 'Thank you so much.'

'But' I say quickly, 'after this, we will go back to barely talking. And my dad can not find out. Also, if Ned asks me one more question, I will break his neck. Got it?'

'Got it,' he said, smiling slightly. 'My aunt can take us, but I don't think she'll want to pick you up at the Avenger's tower.'

I shake my head. 'I'll meet you at your place. Happy has your number. I'll figure it out. I got to go.'

He nods and I take off down the street. Happy picks me up but he parks a block or so away, so he doesn't run into Parker. It made me laugh. I finally get to the car and climb in the front. I give Happy a sweet smile.

    'No,' he says, driving off.

'You don't even know what I was going to say!' I spoke. 'I just need Spidey's number. And maybe a ride to his house. So his Aunt can take me to a party. We're not going together, by the way.'

'You're grounded, Maya,' he said as we drive to the compound.

I shrug. 'My dad says I need the full high-school experience. And he isn't even here.'

Happy glances at me before he sighs. 'Fine. You can go. I don't really care.' I smile and thank him. A part of me kind of wished he said no.
