Quick glimpses in the mirror.
Hand encasing mine because it was bigger.
Whispered promises in the dark.
Peppered kisses, leaving marks.
Eyes closed, head spinning.
Not playing a game, but you’re winning.
Skin tingling with every touch.
I can’t take it. It’s all too much.
Hands in front of me shaking.
My faith in you quaking.
I can’t feel your hands.
I don’t see you there.
Too far gone in the dark.
Your hands now leave marks.
Eyes closed, flinching away.
Raised hands during the day.
Too scared to speak out.
Its too late to tell them now.
Catch your eyes then look away.
You treat me like a game.
Try to run before I die.
I knew I shouldn’t try to lie.
Not to you because you know.
No one thinks twice before I go.
Became an artist with my makeup brush.
Had to learn to cover it up.
Can’t take the last years back.
Can’t let go of your attacks.
I can’t let go of your love in my heart.
But it was only love in the dark.
