what SHOULD HAVE happened between noah and emma

i thought of this in the shower why is my brain so #massive.

starting off, both emma and noah think of eachother as pretty formidable competition due to both of their intelligence and drive.

when noah, emma, owen, and kitty all get trapped in a escape room for some double-duo challenge, and are forced to find the solution to getting out together, things quickly change.

noah would instantly think of solutions, and usually was right, but the second something would take more than five seconds of effort, he would make someone else do it.

emma would commit herself to a single idea and eventually tire herself out, such as breaking open a lock. she took a longer time to think than noah but ultimately had more drive because she was able to commit herself to her tasks.

noah found her stubborn and 'my way or the high way' nature to be annoying, and emma found his laziness and density annoying as well.

noah was jealous of her ability to focus herself and get things done, while emma was jealous of his ability to think on his feet and have ideas and concepts come up to him in an instant.

they both related in the aspect of being bossy, competitive, and lacking communication skills with their partner.

but for now, they continued to fight and argue, only getting out when owen and kitty would work together to release them.

there is a tension between the two of them and an unspoken of rivalry. and thus, they were fighting with eachother a lot.

since noah's 'fighting' was primarily cocky smirking and passive aggressiveness that owen nor kitty couldnt detect. whereas emma's 'fighting' was trying to one up noah and showing off; owen and kitty mistook all of this as the two of them having a crush on eachother, and thus tried to get them to date.

this, however, only made the two of them fight more.

it was more than just a petty rivalry now. they would try sabotaging eachother by slashing taxi tires or tripping whenever they had the chance. once noah found out about emma's ex, he made sure to mention that name a lot, and when emma found out about something in the past for noah (havent decided on what that is yet, maybe some sort of deep insecurity or whatever) she would poke fun at that too.

they eventually were forced to be with eachother in a broken elevator, and of course, the two of them started arguing. now being trapped with them, owen and kitty finally realize that they ARENT deeply in love with eachother and instead want to slice eachothers heads off.

since they couldnt deal with all of the bickering, owen and kitty would try and resolve the tension by pointing out similarities, both of which the two of them would shut down.

and imagine one of those cliche moments where both of them shout the same thing at the same time to their companion and realize that they're more similar than they seem???

because i think the both of them can relate VERY heavily to their dynamic with their race partner. the two of them both tale charge and having a lack of communication which can often end up with owen/kitty being hurt? so they're VERY similar in that aspect and they would realize this here.

they dont acknowledge that much though and just decide to shut up and figure out how to fix the elevator. noah would come up with ideas and emma would test the logics of them, whereas kitty and owen just made tiktoks in the corner or whatever.

eventually they would get themselves out with the power of teamwork 💖😩💓💖😩💞💓💞😩💓

theyd become less of rivals and more of a ... 'we're only friends at work' kind of thing?

or a 'i hate you but you have my unlimited respect' dynamic.
