alright.
listen up fuckers.
so, we're all aware on cody? and how persistent and forward and clingy he can be when it comes to gwen?
let me explain why.
let's start off with his backstory.
just so we are all aware, cody's parents are canonly rich. they give him gifts a lot such as video games and other technology related things. they, also, seem very forgetful of their only son, by forgetting his birthday. cody also has a history of being bullied. he also is very focused on getting involved with the popular crowd.
sources: his island biography, wiki, island confessionals, and that one birthday plot thing in world tour.
got it?
mkay now let's get into it.
the reason cody is so, like that, is because of how he was raised.
his parents dont pay much attention to him, and they make up for that by spoiling him with gifts and of the like. they sort of, neglect him and his own needs?
cody, though he likes the video games, doesnt speak that love language. he likely appreciates quality time more, if you pay close attention to his interactions and reactions.
so, in order for him to get that affection, he has to be very persistent and clingy with his parents. bothering them and what not, you know? because he doesnt get his needed affection from the gifts they give, and with how absent they are, doesnt feel very loved.
so he has to force a lot of it.
cody is desperate to get into the popular crowd and it is implied that he doesnt have many friends. so theres not really a lot of other people who he would get affection from except the tiny tiny bit his parents.
that carries over to gwen.
cody believes, in order to get affection from people, you have to force it out of them. you have to bother them and pester them until they finally give in. because that is what he had to do with his parents.
which is why he, unfortunately, doesnt know how to or when to stop and chill out.
his constant optimism and ignorance to any issues hes facing, (think of how nonchalant he seems when he is discussing his sierra issue, bullying issue, parental issues) also plays a role in that as he doesnt necessarily want to use the mental energy to look at anything negative.
that including gwens negative behavior towards him, and the negative faults within himself.
so, thus, he is unable to acknowledge gwens actions towards him, and unable to recognize that his own actions are faulted either, because he believed it to be the norm.
bye sexies.
