I looked up through blurry eyes, to see a mass of blond hair standing by the large door that I had heard lock so many times.

Draco was wearing black jeans and a hoodie, the oversized-ness of the clothes making him even more skinny than he was. His face looked thin and drawn, he had no doubt lost far too much weight after days of endless worry and anxiety.

His azure eyes flickered over to my limp body, and despite everything... I smiled. The corners of my lips moved upwards ever so slightly due to being terribly weak... but I managed a smile.

And he smiled back.

Again, a small one... just a small smile. But it was still a smile.

I couldn't put into words how glad I was too see Draco in that moment in time. It was like a ray of light hope in the darkness of the situation.

Voldemort was staring into Draco's hard eyes, an annoyed look on his stony face. He however covered this up quickly with mock happiness.

"Draco! How nice it is of you to join us! I wasn't expecting you for a few more minutes though, I must confess." Voldemort sneered, his wand now lowered.

Draco stayed calm, bit his teeth were gritted. "You promised you wouldn't hurt her." His hands were balled into fists, knuckles turning white.

The Dark Lord chuckled. "That's where you're mistaken, Draco. I said, and I quote, 'I will let you see her.' I did not say anything about not harming young Miss Carson here."

Draco's mouth parted open slightly when he realised he'd been tricked. Voldemort registered this, and gave a light chuckle again. "You should really pay attention to what people are saying more, Draco."

Draco hesitated, then gave a small speech that sounded as though it were to be in a movie. "What do you want from me. Please. I promise to do everything you say. Just don't hurt her. She doesn't deserve this."

I tried to call out to Draco and say, 'Draco don't!", but nothing came out of my mouth. I was completely and utterly helpless.

"Well Draco. I'm afraid I can't do that. You see, Miss Carson here knows too much. I can't have her running off to help her little friends back at Hogwarts. And she's too closely tied with our kind, seeing as she has unfortunately been to more than enough death eater meetings, and had come in close contact with some of my most powerful followers. I must kill her, Draco. You can never be too careful."

Voldemort carried on. "And now you've seen her Draco, my end of the deal is done. You have gotten your wish. Now... I can kill her."

It was quicker than a flash. The words trickled out of Voldemort's mouth before I'd even registered what he was saying. "Avada Kedavra."

A blinding emerald light bursted from the blurred shape of Voldemort, and straight through my heart. It was like a small blade being pierced through me, yet no blood spilled.

"NO!" I heard, but it was muffled like I was underwater.

And then, I was on the floor. My eyes were forced shut, my body limp like I had been given an extremely strong sleeping draught.

It was quite. Silent actually. Too silent.

The floor was cold against my cheek, and despite my body feeling slightly flimsy, it didn't ache and sear with pain anymore.
