Mia's (POV)
Logan came over and nuzzled my neck before sitting down, staring at his parents and Sam he gave a wolfy chuckle. For some reason i felt uneasy, glancing at the house i could barely make out a figure before it disappeared. Frowning, i got up and walked towards the house, shifting as i did so. I walked into the kitchen and tried gathering a scent but me being new to this whole wolf business i couldn't determine whose scent was recent and whose wasn't.
I shrugged my shoulders but this unsettling feeling came over me and i couldn't help but think something was going to go wrong. Logan and I needed to train night and day, as well as the rest of the pack because if my gut was right we had a fight coming our way and it wasn't going to be pretty.
Walking back outside, i motioned for Logan to shift shape. I waited til Sam and him were in their human forms before asking 'Is there anyone in this pack that would want to see it ruined?' Logan seemed taken aback by my words but pondered them all the same.
'I am not sure baby, there were some people that weren't happy about the decisions that i have made over the last few years but because i was alpha they never challenged me.' He said making his way to my side. I didn't think that anyone would be dumb enough to voice their opinions to him or around him so i looked to Sam and raised my eye brow at him in question.
He stared at me intently before speaking, 'There have been rumors that some didn't like the fact that you would spend all your time away from the pack to protect a mate that didn't even know you existed, however when i tried getting to the bottom of it and find the source, people would clam up afraid to say anything more about the whole thing. I used my beta powers to try and get them to talk but it was like they couldn't tell me because they themselves didn't know, yet they knew about the rumors, though they couldn't say where it originated from.'
'That's impossible, there is no way that someone didn't know where they heard the rumors from.' Logan yelled, i ran my hand along his arm as he breathed in and out taking comfort from my touch.
'That's what i thought, i kept asking around but i kept going in circles. I finally narrowed it down to a group of people but they said they heard whispers of it in the pack house not knowing who it was coming from because they couldn't tell who the voice was, that it was someone they have never heard before. I believed from because these people would never lie to me.' Sam said shaking his head.
'Who the hell where they?' Logan demanded.
'My little brothers and sisters.' was Sams reply.
'Oh,' was all Logan could get out, he was frustrated you could see it on his face. His mind was working over time and i was surprised you couldn't see the smoke coming out of his ears.
'I heard that,' Logan whispered through our link, looking up at him i gave him a cheeky grin. He laughed through our link and bent his head to kiss my lips.
'I think that we should keep our new expansion plans to ourselves and hire an outside source to start building. Probably should have them start the far away tunnels and work their way in under ground that way the pack won't know anything. In case something goes wrong and someone tries to undermine us.' I said looking at everyone.
'Why' Everyone asked at once.
'I don't know, i have this feeling that something is going to happen and i can't shake it.' I whispered looking down at the ground.
