Waiting Forever

Chapter 14

Oh my god. Logan's sister she was dead. Standing up I turned and looked at the boy.

'How?' I demanded as I felt my eyes turn grey.

'Rogues I think, she was coming home from a doctors appointment. I was coming home from school when I noticed her car parked at an odd angle and went to investigate when I found her, she was beaten and had her heart ripped out, your parents are with her now.' He said so softly that without my wolf hearing I wouldn't have caught it.

Logan stood up and ran out the door with Sam and I trailing after him. I could see the cold look in his eyes as we ran towards the road. She had been a mile away from the house and attacked on pack land. This was cause for war according to what Sam was telling me as Logan ran in front of us.

I noticed Annabelle and Darren holding on to each other as the pack doctor picked up Shelly and drove away with her body. I watched Logan run to them and when they saw him they cried.

Annabelle's sobs were heart wrenching as she cried and cried, she sobbed so hard that she threw up and then slumped to the ground balling her self up in the fetal position. i couldn't stand seeing them in pain, it broke my heart in two.

These two people whom i had just met altered things for me, made me start thinking if them as family and i didn't like seeing my family hurt, so i shifted to my wolf form and started sniffing around the area.

Several wolves had been here and recently, they were all males from what I could tell. I followed their scent and came across a stream I lightly jumped it but their scents were gone. I walked in circles trying to catch it again when something hit me. They probably walked in the stream for a while before jumping out so we would lose their scents, I mean honestly its what I would have done if I were trying to cover my butt and lose someone.

I walked in the stream and every few moments I would step out and see if I could catch them but I was slowly losing hope. I walked for a couple of miles stepping out of the pack boundary lines when I caught it, it was subtle but it was still there. Following the smell I walked and walked.

Logan was wondering where I was, i could feel him trying to talk with me through the link but i ignored him.

I couldn't let these bastards get away with hurting Logan like this or his family, they didn't deserve it. I started to see our town and shifted back to my human form making sure to stay out if sight, people would freak if they caught me naked running through town, I continued to follow their scents.

They led me across town and back into the woods that lay on the other side. Shifting back to my wolf form I started running along their scent wasn't faint anymore so it was easier to follow. I ran for a couple hours heading higher into the mountains when I came across a huge house. It was surrounded by trees and rogues were standing guard on the wrap around balcony as well as the porch. I saw six of them walking eyes shifting back and forth as they watched the tree line.

I hunkered down and debated what to do, should I call for Logan? It would take him a couple hours to get here and that's if he didn't stop to grab a few pack fighters along the way. I knew this was the right place because the scents stopped here.

I circled the area slowly and waited, i saw a man walk out onto the porch, the others gave him a wide berth and bowed slightly. So he must be their leader i thought, my wolf was getting ready, i felt her pacing in my mind and snarling to get out. I saw at least 20 rogues coming and going from the house.

I watched their leader for a little while as he paced back and forth continuously running his fingers through his hair. He stopped as another man came out if the house with a grim expression on his face.
