Logan's (POV)

It took 6 hours to get to where I thought she would be, the others were still scrambling to catch up. I linked to them and told the. Where to go before I headed her way. I stepped into the trees and shifted to my wolf form.

I couldn't walk through the town that laid just before the cavern in my wolf form. Luckily I had tied basketball shorts to my ankle.

Sniffing the air I caught her scent, it was faint but it was there. I smelled blood but it didn't seem to be coming from her. I cautiously moved through the trees and brush, as the smell of blood become stronger.

Wolves littered the ground, some were wounded and passed out while others lay dead in their human form. I weaved in and out of their bodies in search of the cavern, my main concern was Mia, I had to get her back.

I found the little nook in the side of the mountain where we all used to play as kids, I had almost forgotten about this place but Spencer apparently never did. I shifted to my human form and shoved on the shorts.

I moved down into the cavern and looked around, they had installed a cell, Mia's scent was all over this place but she wasn't here.

'Fuck,' I yelled as I rushed back outside only to come up short as I came face to face with the barrel of a gun.

'Look who decided to show up,' Stephan said with a smirk on his face.

'I came here expecting your pretty little mate but instead I find you.' He said a little too happily. Lock him up, she has escaped again and now I hold something that she will want back.'

A man around my age, motioned for me to get back into the cavern with a wave of his gun. I backed inside with my hands raised, if Mia escaped that's all that mattered. I stepped into the cell and stopped. Another man closed the door with a click and took out a set of keys to lock it before they both left.

I gripped the handles and started pulling but they wouldn't budge. Sighing I went over to the bed and laid down, I tried linking Mia but she didn't respond. I needed to know she was safe, the others would be on their way so I wasn't really worried about me. Even if they weren't, I wasn't worried.

I lived and breathed that woman, she was my whole world and if I had sacrifice myself in order for her to live so be it.

'Well spoken my love,' a voice rang through my mind.

'Who the hell is this?' I demanded sitting up.

'Someone who has been watching from afar.' She whispered with a slight laugh.

'Gabriella?' I took a guess.

'Oh my, good looks and brains, what a good combination,' she said dreamily.

I was silent I honestly didn't know how to respond to that.

'You made your choice my love, it wasn't about the timing even though I made it seem that way. In order for you and Mia to have a life together, you had to make a choice, your life for the future of your pack or her.'

'You chose her, you saw what everyone else choses to ignore, you saw past her beauty and loved the woman beneath. She needs someone like that in her life, and I needed you to prove it.' She whispered, sorrow laced her words.

'I take it that you never had that,' I said.

'Wow, you cut straight to the point don't you?' She said with a sigh. 'No I never had that, I found my mate and he chose to let me go. He chose to live, running away while I died.' She whispered sorrow evident in her voice.
