Waiting Forever

Chapter 29

Mia's (POV)

We made it home safely and I was instantly grateful. No one stopped us and no one attacked us, I was glad to be home. Logan didn't question why Zeke was here, he was too concerned about me to pay him any attention and for that I was grateful.

Everyone went their separate ways, I have Zeke and his men in spare rooms around the house, it wasn't very surprising when Zeke's mate chose to stay with him.

After everyone was settled Logan and I made our way to our room. It felt like I hadn't been here in years, it felt like I had finally come home. All that time I spent separating myself from everyone and flitting from place to place, this is what I had been waiting for, a feeling like this.

Logan pulled me towards the bathroom, turned on the shower and stripped me, then himself, before picking me up and setting me in the tub. There was silence between us but not an uncomfortable one, as he began washing my body in long sensual strokes.

I felt like I was in heaven, leaning on his body as he massaged my sore, tired muscles. I repeated the gesture before he rinsed us off and carried me to bed.

Once my head hit the pillow I was out.

Logan's (POV)

I was grateful to have her home with me, she looked so tired that I couldn't believe she was able to keep her eyes open. Luckily, we were able to get everyone situated fast and I was able to get her up to our room without a fuss.

When we laid in bed, I couldn't help but smile when she passed out. I was extremely tired but I couldn't seem to fall asleep, part of me kept thinking that this was a dream and I would wake up still in that cavern, without her.

I thought back to when she was being attacked, something had come over me and I had ripped the bars apart to get to her. I don't know what the hell happened, one minute I was following her thoughts and the next searing pain. All I could think about was getting to her.

I heard chuckling in my head.

'That was my mates gift, my love.' Gabriella whispered before her shimmering image appeared before me.

She walked over to where Mia was laying peacefully and ran her hand along her cheek. She had a smile on her face as she looked at me.

'You have a strong mate, one who is willing to die for you, her past is one that she had wished for so long to forget but was unable to, until you.'

'There are things that she has never told you but they are not important, things that will only make you angry on her behalf, so don't worry about them instead concentrate on your futures.' She broke eye contact with me to bend down and kiss Mia's forehead before turning back to me.

'My mates gift was strength, you have had it in you this whole time, I just unlocked it. Take care of her Logan and she will take care of you, be good to each other and fight for each other, in the end you will end this.'

As she said those words her image faded. I looked down at Mia and hoped that I could give her the future she deserved. Snuggling closer to her, I put my nose in her hair and breathed in her scent, closing my eyes I let myself drift off into a peaceful sleep.

Mia's (POV)

I woke up to the sound of Logan's soft snore and couldn't help but smile. I gently removed his arm from my waist and got dressed before going down stairs. We had to be alert, the rogue that Logan had killed just happened to be Stephan, thank god. Unfortunately, we still had Zoey and Spencer to worry about.

I walked into the kitchen and instantly smiled, everyone was here, Zeke and his mate, along with his fighters. My parents, Sam and Sierra as well as our fighters. They had food spread all over the counter top and were conversing like they had been friends for years. It pleased me to see them getting along so well.
