Mia's (POV)

I watched as that disgusting man turned into a muddy brown wolf, he was slim and looked to be weak but looks were very deceiving. The rogue who Spencer called Stephan, was big but not as big as Logan and I.

I wasn't prepared for Spencer though, when he shifted I almost exposed myself with a gasp. I watched Logan visibly stiffen, he was huge but still smaller than Logan and I, where we had Alpha blood he did not. I couldn't believe it, he was a grey, one of us. It was almost like history was repeating itself.

'How can this be?' I linked to Logan without thinking.

'Zoey and him never completed the mating, so they never got the marks. He made excuses as to why he wouldn't shift with us, I should have put the pieces together but when you started to suspect Zoey, I didn't question you.' He said without turning or blinking.

'So that's where you went,' Michael said staring at Spencer. 'I knew you looked familiar now I know why, your mother was the one who destroyed my pack years ago and now her son is doing the same thing to my daughters.'

Spencer growled at him, his eyes flashing dangerously in the waning sun. I expected Logan to say something, anything, but he kept silent.

Everything seemed suspended, all you could hear was the breathing of the wolves and people in the clearing and as if something snapped the wolves attacked in mass.

Logan, Michael and the fighters shifted shape and attacked them head on. Alpha Nick and Alpha Zack led their packs in effectively blocking in the rogue enemy. There were growls and snarls, teeth tore into flesh and bodies were beginning to drop from both sides.

Sierra was siting on a branch, lifting boulders and dropping them on enemies, my mother was shooting water trying to drive them back. I couldn't sit there, I had to be in the thick of things.

Jumping down I ran towards the fight, a wolf lunged at me only to be pushed back by a stream of water. I continued to run, as my mother and Sierra ran interference. I watched a wolf run at Logan, instantly I was pissed, fire shot from my hands and engulfed the lunging wolf. He dropped in howling pain that turned to screams as he shifted to his human form.

I concentrated on a boulder, anger fueling my movements, it jerked from the ground and i ran it into wolves, crushing them in it wake. I was jerked to the ground, a black and brown wolf sat snarling on top of me, his jaws clamped around my shoulder causing me to scream out in pain, before he was thrown off of me. Alpha Zack, stood over the wolfs dead body turning to look at me i nodded my head and off he went after another wolf who was tearing into our ranks. Jumping up, i lit myself on fire and rushed to the middle of the clearing.

Wolves stayed clear of me, most likely orders from their leader. More wolves began to pour in through the tree line, our numbers were falling and i needed to do something. Closing my eyes i concentrated on my flames, they lept up my arm in my mind I laid out the clearing.

Focusing on the wolves pouring in I created a wall of fire I used to push them back. Opening my eyes, I watched the flames dancing from my arms to the wall of flames. Some wolves had got caught in the process of the wall being built and were writhing on the ground in agony.

I turned my head and human and wolf bodies laid every where, being stepped on by the ones still fighting. Logan was limping around with wolves surrounding him, deep gashes were in his side and his fur matted.

Concentrating on him I flashed to his side the wall of flames died down and the wolves that had been separated flooded the clearing.

'The time is now sweetheart,' a voice whispered through my mind. 'Let me connect through you.'

I didn't know where the voice came from but the voice was so soothing that I couldn't help but comply.

Closing my eyes, I felt this power flow through me, encasing me. I opened my eyes and smiled at the wolves who looked at me in terror. The power surged and I felt myself lifting off the ground, all the fighting had stopped and all eyes were on me.

I snapped my fingers and the wolves surrounding Logan evaporated in a cloud of dust. Turning my gaze towards the wolves remaining I held up my hand to snap them again and the turned and ran for the trees.

We let them go, it probably wasn't the smartest thing to do but we needed to regroup. Logan limped his way to my side and nuzzled my neck with his cold nose. The power was slowly receding and I felt my old self begin to take over.

'Gabriella I presume?' My mother asked as she walked to our side.

'I believe so, I couldn't place her voice and I know Gabriella's voice.' I said.

She raised her eye brow at me and I waved my hand in the air, 'A story for another day.'

We got to work, cleaning things up and tending to the wounded. It was late in the day, the fighting had gone on for hours without me even realizing it. When we made it back to the pack house I was exhausted and wanted nothing more than to crawl into my bed and sleep.

Logan needed to finish up some things and told me to go get some rest that he would join me when he could. When I closed the door to our room I sighed as I caught sight of our bed, i started moving towards it when I was caught from behind and felt something enter my neck.

I slid to the floor and looked up to see Zoey's face looking down at me.

'I'm sorry I had to do this, the fight was a distraction of sorts but this was the original plan the whole time. When you wake up play nice or else you will get hurt, so make it easy on yourself.' It was Zoey face and all but that voice, it was filled with so much hatred and coldness that it didn't seem like the Zoey I had known this whole time.

I watched her flip open her phone as the room started growing dim

'I have her......' And my world went dark.
